  • Snap's head of HR, Jason G. Halbert, is leaving the company.
  • He is the latest in a string of executives to leave Snap in recent months.

Snap's head of HR, Jason G. Halbert, is leaving the company, Business Insider has learned.

Halbert's official title was VP of people and global security, and he oversaw the company's HR department. He has been at the company for nearly four years, and led a number of initiatives at the company, including establishing a performance management process.

A Snap spokesperson confirmed the news to Business Insider, calling the departure mutual and amicable.

Halbert is the most recent executive to leave Snap in recent months as the company contends with large financial losses, a plunging stock price, and a declining user base.

Chief strategy officer Imran Khan left the company in September. Other recent departures include head of global strategic partnerships Elizabeth Herbst-Brady; Mary Ritti, former VP of communications; Drew Vollero, former chief financial officer; Jeff Lucas, former head of sales; and Tom Conrad, who led the product team.

A 2017 profile in The Information called Halbert "infamous" for sharing dubious stories with staff about everything from how he masturbated during his time in the military to his run-ins with organized crime in Mexico. The article prompted an outside inquiry, The Information reported.
