Skechers Is Selling A Shoe Called 'Daddy'$ Money' To Teenage Girls
YouTubeSkechers is under fire for marketing a shoe called "Daddy'$ Money" to teenage girls.
The tag line for the $50 to $80 shoe, which swaps the "s" with a dollar sign to really drill in the point, is: "Get spoiled with Daddy's money, ultra cool shoes that will put you in the spotlight ..."
No, this is not an SNL sketch.
Apart from the expected critiques that the ad — in which tweens dance around in front of leopard backgrounds holding fans of money — instills bad values on young women, some are calling it sexist for other reasons.
“In this day and age a lot of mommies are footing half the bills if not all the bills,” parenting blogger Ericka Souter from TheStir.com told ABC News.

Skechers released a statement to ABC that “The Daddy’s Money name and the collection’s advertising are designed to be fun and lighthearted. We regret that some people have been offended by the name.”
In other words, sorry but toughen up.
