Samsung tried to steal Apple’s ‘iPhone 6S launch’ thunder in a rather clever way yesterday!

While the whole world was waiting with bated breath to feast their eyes and ears on every tiny detail during the Apple event last night, its rival Samsung did some incredible search engine marketing.

Knowing that almost everyone would be logged in on the internet, their fingers clicking away furiously on Google to find any and every information they could on the big Apple announcement, Samsung decided to take the plunge and make the most of it.

This is what happened when the entire world was searching for the iPhone 6s.

When one typed in those words, the first result that would show up on their screens was shockingly not related to Apple, but instead to Samsung.

The clever use of Google adwords by Samsung didn’t go unnoticed, with some lauding their smart move and some dismissing it as a cheap tactic.

However, when we last checked, one couldn’t see the ad if they were searching for ‘iPhone 6s’ on the desktop. It was thus targeted only for mobile devices.

While we don’t want to take sides, but we have to admit, brands using effective marketing strategies are refreshing, to say the least!
