ZEEL witnesses a decline of 19.7% in its domestic advertising revenue in FY21 due to the pandemic

Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) has posted a declined by 19.7% in its domestic ad revenue in FY21 owing to the pandemic. However, its domestic ad revenue for Q4FY21 grew by 8.9% YoY driven by the continued recovery in macro advertising environment. The network has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 272.36 crore for the quarter ended in March 2021.
Zee's ad revenue from international markets stood at Rs 52.6 crore, whereas its subscription revenue stood at Rs 55.3 crore. Its network share improved to 18.9%.
Zee5, which released over 75 originals in FY21 saw its Q4 revenue and EBITDA stand at Rs 107.5 crore and Rs 162.5 crore.
While the resurgence in COVID cases impacted Zee Studios' near-term plan of movies business, it has a strong slate of movies across languages in FY22. The increase in COVID cases and lockdown guidelines will have a bearing on Zee Studios’ release plans, the report revealed.
