Vocal for Local consumer sentiment continues to grow. Here are the factors that are impacting consumer’s purchase decision

- As per Neilsen’s survey conducted in 22 cities among 1725 respondents, two in three consumers intend to buy more ‘Local’ brands going forward.
- 43% of the respondents said they consider brands who use Ayurveda/ natural ingredients Indian.

After the Government of India ordered a ban on 59 Chinese apps that included TikTok, Likee, Bigo Live, the Vocal for Local sentiment has witnessed a steady growth in the country. As per Neilsen’s COVID-19 evolving consumer trends report, two in three consumers intend to buy more ‘Local’ brands going forward. The survey was conducted in 22 cities among 1725 respondents.
Factors that are impacting consumer’s purchase decision:
Consumers are also becoming cautious about buying products at a store. 62% intend to increase online shopping by more than 20% and prefer contactless delivery. 54% of them said they are paying more often via payment apps.
Consumers also exhibited the urge to step out but only if all safety and immunization measures were followed.
