On October 28, 2021 Facebook Chief Mark Zuckerberg announced that the tech giant is changing its corporate name to ‘Meta.’ The company’s new name refers to the 'metaverse,' which is its new venture in the shared augmented reality and virtual world environments space.

Now, Zuckerberg has unveiled a new campaign taking its users inside the metaverse. It illustrates his vision of a 3D metaverse with the help of a classic painting.

Titled, 'This is going to be fun,' the advertisement features a group of friends visiting a museum. They stop by a classic painting to appreciate its beauty and notice something unusual. The inanimate animals in the painting start grooving and turn 3D. The painting transports them into Facebook's metaverse.

Earlier this week, the social media giant announced that it will be shutting down its automatic facial recognition feature for photos and videos. The Mark Zuckerberg-owned company said it will also erase the data collected over the years. "This change will represent one of the largest shifts in facial recognition usage in the technology’s history. More than a third of Facebook’s daily active users have opted in to our Face Recognition setting and are able to be recognized, and its removal will result in the deletion of more than a billion people’s individual facial recognition templates," read its blog.
