Jake and Logan Paul both dropped out of Forbes' highest-paid YouTuber rankings for 2019

Two familiar faces were missing from this year's list of Forbes' highest-paid YouTubers: Jake and Logan Paul, both of whom made last year's top 10 list, were edged out in 2019.

Forbes' list is based on data from social media trackers and interviews with insiders from the influencer industry. The list takes into account both ad money from YouTube videos and other revenue streams, including merch and branded products.

In 2018, Jake Paul was Forbes' second-highest-earning YouTuber, bringing in an estimated $21.5 million. Logan Paul was #10 last year, earning an estimated $14.5 million. Neither brother made the cut for 2019's top 10 list.

Representatives for Jake and Logan Paul did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Forbes confirmed to Business Insider that the brothers' earnings were considered using the same criteria in 2018 and 2019.

For years, the Paul brothers were relentless every-day vloggers, each uploading at least one video to their respective channels daily. Both brothers stopped daily vlogging in mid-2018, citing goals to explore other projects.

The Forbes rankings of highes-paid YouTubers is a testament to the buying power of YouTube's young audience. Nearly every YouTuber in 2019's top ten list targets a fanbase of mostly children and teens, and some of the top earners are children themselves - 5-year-old Anastasia Radzinskaya was #3, and 8-year-old Ryan Kaji was 2019's top earner, making an estimated $26 million.
