The SpaceX Falcon 9 took off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Brevard County, Florida. That's the rocket in the middle.
The Falcon 9 is able to deliver a large payload into space. For this launch, the cargo consisted of 11 satellites from a company called ORBCOMM.
Here's the rocket on the launch pad as SpaceX prepped for lift-off.
The launch was delayed a day due to poor weather on Sunday that could have interfered with the rocket's landing. Monday had clear skies, though.

The rocket achieved lift-off at 8:29 p.m.

The amazing aspect of the flight was that the Falcon 9 rocket was able to make it back down to land after going into orbit. This is what it looked like on return.
