Last-minute flying will no longer burn a hole in your pocket as Air India has made it affordable. The national carrier will sell unsold seats on its flight at the price of Rajdhani second AC fare.
This will be done for important routes such as Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Chennai, Delhi-Bengaluru, and Delhi-Kolkata.
The Rajdhani AC II fares from Delhi to Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata are Rs 2,870, Rs 3,905, Rs 4,095 and Rs 2,890, respectively.
"The government wants to make air travel affordable for everyone and we will do everything to do that," AI chief Ashwani Lohani told TOI.
With selling off the unsold ticket as rail fare will also make up for Air India’s loss incurred when taking off with vacant seats.
