Yankees Pitcher Ejected For Having An Illegal Substance On His Neck
Sports1 min read

Two weeks after cameras appeared to show a foreign substance on his hand, Michael Pineda of the Yankees was ejected for having pine tar on his neck.

Red Sox manager John Farrell requested that umpire check Pineda. After searching Pineda's glove and hand, the umpire touched Pineda's neck and appeared to say, "that's pine tar," before ejecting the pitcher.

Amazingly, Pineda was ejected while facing the Boston Red Sox, the same team that he was facing when he was previously accused of using pine tar.

Here is a closer view of the pine tar smudge that was easily seen on television even before Pineda was ejected.

After the previous game, Pineda claimed it was just dirt on his hand.

Pineda will almost certainly be suspended by Major League Baseball for using the illegal substance.
