With the increasing popularity of motorcycle tourism in the country, the two-wheeler is not only used as a medium to commute but has become a lifestyle statement. Keeping the spirit of young tourists in mind, Yamaha Motor India, an Indian subsidiary of Japan’s Yamaha, has launched the 149-cc motorcycle Fazer FI at Rs 83,850 (ex-showroom Delhi). With a newly designed air-cooled 149cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine, the new version of Fazer FI claims to provide enhanced fuel efficiency and acceleration. These features certainly act as an attraction for youths who are worried about the mileage.
"With the addition of new Fazer FI targeted at young men between the ages of 18-30, the company hopes to see a steep growth in the customer base in the deluxe segment, especially keeping in mind the mileage-conscious target audience," the two-wheeler maker said in a statement.
The new Fazer's headlamp enclosed in the fairing sees a minor revision as do the side panels. There are new graphics as well.
Other changes in the Fazer include a new instrument console which gets an eco indicator, updated chassis with new front, rear suspension as well as new puncture resistant tyres. Currently, the bike is available in three colours--Red Dawn, White Cloud and Black Hawk.
