For those of you who follow the development around Xiaomi know that Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s Vice president was a major part of their product launches. At Mi events, Barra used to be the ‘un-Veep-like’ host who garnered a very rockstar-like applause from the audience. His excitement for the product travelled straight to the people present at the event and of course to many others watching him through live streaming. On 23rd of March Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4A, this was Xiaomi’s first event in India after Barra’s exit from the company. The baton was clearly passed on to the two big guys of Xiaomi in India, Manu Jain, Vice President Xiaomi & Managing director Xiaomi India and Jai Mani, Lead Product Manager for Xiaomi. They did a pretty good job of keeping the audience hooked while Jain talked about the new and the second Xiaomi plant in India which will have a combined production capacity of one phone per second, Mani stepped in to a very ‘Barra’ like introduction of the product, detailing the features and the comparisons. Even though the Mi guys were great, Mi fans would certainly feel the void, after all who could perfect the famous Shahrukh Khan pose like Barra.

Here’s what Jay had to say about his ex-boss
