Xiaomi Redmi 3s makes its debut in India for Rs 6,999
Xiaomi has announced the launch of Redmi 3s in the sub-Rs 9,000 price segment.
The 8.5mm slim phone comes packed with a 5-inch HD IPS display (1280 x 720 pixels) and can be said to be one of the cheapest smartphones that come with a fingerprint scanner. Offering a full metal unibody design, the phone weighs 144 grams.
It is also the first smartphone that has Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor to be made available in India. Other than this, the phone comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a massive 4,100mAh battery. Apps that come preloaded on this phone are Amazon, Kindle, Flipkart, Facebook, WPS Office and Swiftkey.
Talking of software specifications, the phone run MiUI 7.3 based on Android 6.0.
The 13MP rear camera comes with f2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and can do full HD video recording. The front camera, on the other hand, is a 5MP wide-angle unit with f2.2 aperture, also capable of full HD video recording.
The Redmi 3s Prime version has also been launched, which comes with 3G RAM and 32GB storage, with rest of the specification and features being same as Redmi 3s.
While Redmi 3s Prime will go on sale on mi.com and Flipkart from 9th August 2016 for Rs 8,999, the Redmi 3s will be available for Rs 6,999 from a week afterwards, i.e. 16th August 2016.
