Now insure your Xiaomi device!

In a bid to save its devices from accidental damage, China's leading smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched Mi Protect insurance plan. The plan comes with free home pick-up and drop-off service, and a free second servicing within a year of activation.

As per the company statement, the price of the insurance plan would vary across Xiaomi smart devices. For the popular Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime devices, the annual cost is Rs 275, while for the more expensive ones, like Mi 4i and Mi Pad, it is Rs 499.

These plans are available with all Xiaomi devices which are sold on Mi.com, the own e-commerce site owned by the Xiaomi.

The plan would not only provide Xiaomi customers in India with cashless repairs at all authorised service centres of the company, it would also come with a variety of services. These services include 24 x 7 call centre support, a SIM misuse insurance cover upto Rs 3,000 and a SIM block facility which can be used from anywhere in the world.
