Worried over rising pollution, Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma ready to invest in startups on clean air solutions

One of India's leading entrepreneurs Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar seems too worried about India’s pollution levels. He recently said the polluted sky around Diwali gave him a horrible sense of deja vu.

Sharma tweeted - "Five years ago when I was in Beijing, I couldn't see a stadium 500-700 metres away. I told my friend it was horrid, but today morning the same thing happened with me in Delhi's Chankayapuri.”

“It was depressing driving in Delhi,” he said.

He was seen batting for entrepreneurs looking for clean air solutions. "I will invest in startups and am going to solely focus on these kinds of companies and not just for commercial gains," said Mr Sharma, who has invested in several companies, the recent being ‘Unacademy’.

He cautioned that the speed and pace at which pollution in India is growing will be dangerous for future generations.
