With nowhere to go, Facebook says Free Basics will not be available in India

After repeated rejections from TRAI, Facebook has finally said Free Basics will not available to people in India.
"Free Basics is no longer available to people in India," said a Facebook spokesperson.
After TRAI rejected Free Basics, Reliance Communications has decided to make Facebook's Free Basics platform a paid one.
As per reports, RCom, which is the only distributor of Free Basics in India, had said that subscribers will have to pay applicable data charges for accessing websites or apps through the zero-rated Free Basics platform.
TRAI had asked the telecom player to dismiss the service.
Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg had expressed disappointed over TRAI’s rejection, saying people will be affected in India.
