Windows Version Of HTC One (M8) Coming Later This Year
Tech1 min read
Earlier in the year, we had heard news reports that suggested HTC working on a Windows-based flagship smartphone, which will have a similar-to-the-form factor of the HTC One M8. We really think that the HTC One M8 sports a great design and it will be a good to see a Windows avatar of this smartphone.

In the past few weeks, we had also read news reports that perhaps HTC has dropped the idea. However, a recent tweet by The Verge’s Tom Warren, HTC is still working on the said smartphone.

The tweet reads as “Oh and HTC is working on a Windows Phone version of the One. Should be out later this year”. Sadly at this stage, there is no more information regarding this Windows version of the HTC One M8.

HTC One M8 has a five-inch 1080p screen, which is a slight jump from last year's 4.7-inch device. It has an impressively sleek metal uni-body backing, with an edge-to-edge screen. It is available in three colors: Metal Grey, Gold, and Silver.

The most notable feature of the HTC One (M8) is its camera. The device packs in what the company dubs as the HTC Duo camera.

On the specifications front, HTC One (M8) has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU, 16GB or 32GB flavors, 2GB of RAM, and a microSD slot that supports cards of up to 128GB capacity. The HTC One (M8) also has NFC support, Bluetooth 4.0, is DLNA-compatible, and has support for infrared remotes.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) along with a layer of Sense 6.0 UI. [PhoneArena]
