Not only will we see Iron Man and Captain America go toe to toe, we'll also be introduced to a number of new heroes including Black Panther and a revamped Spider-Man.
However one character we won't see on screen will be Mark Ruffalo's the Hulk.
Marvel
In an interview with Italian movie site badtaste while doing press for new film "Spotlight," Ruffalo confirms Marvel has other plans for his character.
We first spotted this on /film. The quote has been translated from Italian:
Because he's still missing, and it's unknown where he is. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end they evidently believed that the reveal of what happened to the Hulk was too big, and Marvel wants to save that information for later. My character had been in the script, but then he got removed. Who knows, maybe the Hulk will never return. They want to keep the revelation of what happened to him a secret, because it's something really big.
If you've seen "Avengers: Age of Ultron," you'll remember the Hulk ran off and disappeared at the end of the film.
As Ruffalo suggests, the Hulk originally appeared to have been a part of Civil War but was removed at some point from the film. While the translation suggests the Hulk may never return, Ruffalo's reported Marvel contract has him signed on for a six-picture deal so this certainly isn't the last we'll see of him. Remember we have the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" coming out in 2018 and 2019.
"Captain America: Civil War" will be in theaters May 6, 2016.
