Papa John's may be the latest brand weathering a public relations crisis, but the situation is just yet another case of déjÀ vu for branding experts.

It reminds them of Uber.

Specifically, they see parallels between what happened at Papa John's leading to its chairman John Schnatter resigning this week and how the Uber crisis unfolded in 2017, ultimately leading to the ouster of its founder and former CEO Travis Kalanick.

The Justice Department will appeal the $85 billion AT&T-Time Warner merger. A judge approved the deal last month after nearly two years of effort by the two companies.

The ad agency giant Omnicom has created a new AI tool that is poised to completely change how ads get made. On Thursday, Omnicom Group publicly rolled out Omni, an internal platform that allows its agencies to use data to create, plan and buy ad campaigns.

Speaking of Omnicom, the agency holding company is betting on building its own data expertise even as its rivals spend billions on data providers. "It de-risks our business," said Jonathan Nelson, CEO of Omnicom Digital.

Build-A-Bear was forced to shut down its 'Pay Your Age Day' deal after huge crowds and 'madness' overtook stores across the US. Photos from Build-A-Bear stores show long lines stretching throughout malls and scenes that some shoppers described as "madness."

Bustle owner Bryan Goldberg has won the bankruptcy auction for Gawker.com, the Wall Street Journal reports. Goldberg placed a $1.35 million bid for assets including the Gawker.com domain, social media accounts and an archive of its published articles.
