The US is looking forward to the presidential election in November this year. Running for the poll,
Donald Trump and
Hillary Clinton are leaving no stones unturned to woo the voters. And all of a sudden, India is being pulled into the discussion, thanks to the outsourcing issue that has been happening in the US for quite some time now.
In an instance to demonstrate how unsympathetic
Hillary is towards fellow Americans, team Donald
Trump recently accused Hillary of being closer to Indian tech giants
HCL and
TCS. Trump camp alleges, Hillary is responsible for stealing of jobs from young Americans.
The website that mentioned so is run by Trump's new campaign chief
Andrew Breitbart. It recalled
Clinton's remarks several years ago at a fundraiser hosted by
Rajwant Singh, a prominent Indian-American from
Maryland, where she said, "I can certainly run for the
Senate seat in
Punjab and win easily ," after being introduced by
Singh as the "Senator not only from
New York but also Punjab."
What the website skipped is the fact that even
Republican lawmakers were quite interested to woo Sikh voters at that time.
"Most notably , Clinton has extensive ties to corporations responsible for some of the most egregious anti-American worker labour practices: namely , the India-based
Tata Consultancy Services and HCL...Interestingly , both companies have given money to the
Clintons either via donations to the
Clinton Foundation or paying
Bill Clinton to deliver speeches," the
Breitbart story noted, saying the firms have "stolen" tens of thousands of US jobs, according to the ET.
"HCL and Tata are responsible for the layoffs of workers from Disney , Southern California Edison,
Northeast Utilities,
Xerox, University of California, Siemens, and countless others," it added.
