A legendary Southern fast-food chain is in the news for a surprising reason, as Donald Trump supporters threaten to boycott the chain.

Cook Out is almost as synonymous with the South as sweet tea. However, the chain has recently had some unwanted publicity after a family was turned away from a Cook Out in Colonial Heights, Virginia when they showed up in Donald Trump shirts and hats.

The incident prompted outrage on social media, with people calling for boycott of the fast-food chain.

Cook Out says the the employee in question has been fired for "rudeness."

Politics aside, Business Insider's Travis Lyles has gone on the record heartily endorsing Cook Out as the South's best burger chain.

In October, he visited a location in his hometown of Newport News, Virginia, eager to have the chance to order a hearty and delicious meal for under $5.

For non-Southerners confused by what to make of the fast-food chain making the news, as well as regulars who want to celebrate the glory of Cook Out, keep scrolling for Travis' guided tour of what he calls "one of the best fast-food places the South has to offer."
