What David Cameron will do now that he is no longer prime minister

The soon-to-be former UK Prime Minister was made to put in a last minute call to the removal van company this week, after Theresa May was announced as the new leader of the Conservative Party surprisingly early.

After the personally calamitous EU referendum result, Cameron had announced that he would step down by the time of the Conservative party conference in October 2016.

But when Andrea Leadsom pulled out of the race to become the next Conservative leader and Prime Minister leaving May as the sole contender, Cameron was forced to hand in his resignation to the Queen earlier than he had expected.

So what's next for the Eton and Oxford educated, 49-year-old former PR man? We looked at David Cameron's career options, based on the paths of previous heads of state and early hints from Cameron himself.
