West Bengal, which is a stronghold of the state’s All India Trinamool Congress, saw an uprising of the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party during this elections. However, the exit polls went clearly in favour of the TMC, fielded by state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. What was interesting to note was that BJP which in 2014 had managed to bag only 2 seats from the state, saw exit polls favouring the number to rise to 13 seats.
Business Insider compiled surveys from five reputed sources — Republic-C Voter, News18 - IPSOS, Today's Chanakya, India Today-Axis, and TimesNow - VMR — amongst many others and the final number is an average of these five polls.
The State with 42 Lok Sabha constituencies, West Bengal voted for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 during all the 7 phases in different segments. Having won 34 out of 42 seats in 2014 general elections, the Trinamool Congress is highly hopeful to crack the Lok Sabha elections 2019 by securing as many seats as possible this time for the Parliament. On the other hand, the Congress party and the BJP have launched their winning strategies this time to grab their fair share of seats to support their victory from West Bengal. For quite long, Bankura has been a stronghold for the CPI (M).

During 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the All India Trinamool Congress is trying hard to win from here against the BJP that is gradually surging to prominence in the state. TMC has fielded Subrata Mukherjee, a veteran in the political scene of West Bengal. In Medinipur constituency, Dilip Ghosh, the BJP’s state unit president will fight with Manas Bhunia of TMC, a seven-time sitting MLA. This fight will be the talk of the state once the results are announced. Saumitra Khan, who won from Bishnupur on a TMC ticket during the last elections has now joined BJP and fighting from the same seat on behalf of the country’s ruling party.
