International locations of American fast food chains like Burger King have unique menu items you can't find in America. Fast food chains try to incorporate local flavors and dishes on their international menus, resulting in some interesting and delicious creations. The Burger King menu in Japan is no exception, featuring everything from Teriyaki Whoppers to Melon Soda Floats. You can even order a hot dog with all the fixings, along with a refreshing pint of beer. We tried all of this and more at Burger King's Tokyo location. Following is a transcript of the video.
Trying Burger King in Japan
Ryan Chang: What is up, guys! My name's Ryan and I am here in Tokyo to check out Burger King because they apparently have hot dogs and beer on tap.
We visited the Tokyo location.
The Taste Test
Hot Dog
While hot dogs are no longer on the Burger King menu in America, you can still try them in Japan.
Ryan: It has ketchup, mustard, and relish. I like it! It's a little sweet, surprisingly. Very good though. And it accompanies well with the draft beer from Burger King.
Beer
Beer is available on tap at Burger King locations in Japan. Burger King also now offers beer at certain U.S. locations.
Hash Brown Whopper
Ryan: [It's] basically a beef patty with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions with a hash brown in the middle. You get the classic style whopper with the uniqueness of the hash brown in the center so it's definitely like crunchy in the center and tender on the [outside].
Teriyaki Whopper
Ryan: [This is] exclusive in Japan! So it's just like a homestyle teriyaki burger, with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. I like it! It's so good.
Melon Soda Float
Ryan: We have the melon soda float, it's like a sweet soda with a custard on top. It's definitely really sweet. [The] custard's really thick.
Cheese Bites
Ryan: We have the cheese bites, exclusively in Japan. It's crunchy on the outside
and [has a] soft center filled with cheese on the inside. It kind of reminds me of a tater tot...with cheese in the middle.
