The importance of the position goes beyond the starters. Backup QBs are also vital to a team's success heading into a fresh NFL season. Look no further than the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. While Carson Wentz played like an MVP candidate for most of the season, it was backup Nick Foles who carried the team over the finish line to lift the Lombardi Trophy.
