Franky Zapata, CEO of Zapata Racing, successfully used a jet-powered hoverboard to complete a world record-breaking flight of 7,388 ft over the weekend.
For context, that's over five times further than the previous record of 905 ft set last year by Catalin Alexandru Duru.
Zapata spoke to The Verge last month leading up to his record-breaking attempt, explaining that the Flyboard Air - the model of hoverboard he used on his record-setting run - had only completed its first flight in March.
