Drill Instructor Sgt. Jonathan B. Reeves inspects and disciplines recruits with Platoon 1085, Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. About 600 Marine Corps drill instructors shape the approximately 20,000 recruits who come to Parris Island annually into basic United States Marines. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for 50 percent of males and 100 percent of females in the Marine Corps.
- In this hilarious US Marine Corps video, the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps teaches a young girl dressed as Wonder Woman how a warrior celebrates Halloween.
- When the Sgt. Major. realizes the girl is supposed to be a "warrior," he turns to get her a special treat - not candy, but rather a self-contained food ration known as a MRE (Meal, Ready-to-Eat).
- "Protect what you've earned," he says to the confused girl, using a Marine catchphrase for staying out of trouble.
