Walmart Promotes Its Asia Head Scott Price To An International Role

NEW DELHI: Walmart Stores Inc announced Friday that it is promoting its Asia head Scott Price to an international role to be based in Bentonville headquarters and Walmart China head Greg Foran will replace Price as the new chief executive for Asia.

Price is named as executive vice president for international strategy and will handle a wide range of global operations including development, real estate and mergers and acquisition. Walmart also promoted China COO Sean Clarke as the new chief executive officer of China replacing Foran.

Price joined Walmart in 2009 from DHL and under his tenure Walmart initiated sweeping programme in Asia to comply with stringent US anti-bribery laws Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or FCPA that forbids American listed entities to bribe to secure and operate businesses in foreign countries.

Foran, the new Asia head is a 30-year retail veteran and has joined Walmart in 2011. Prior to that Foran has worked for Australian retailer Woolworths in Australia and New Zealand.
