Walmart India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Walmart Stores Inc, has introduced its business-to-business (B2B) online shopping platform, www.bestprice.in, for members of its store located in Andra Pradesh’s Rajahmundry. The supermarket chain has regarded the initiative as part of an expansion plan.

On December 1, Walmart announced that the members of its Best Price Modern Wholesale store can access e-commerce platform to buy fruits and vegetables, etc. It is worth noting that company had come up with identical stores in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur and Vijayawada.

According to Krish Iyer, president and CEO, Walmart India, "We have received an overwhelming response from our members in Lucknow, Hyderabad, Guntur and Vijayawada and we are certain that members in Rajahmundry too would benefit significantly."

"The convenience of easy selection and payment along with efficient delivery of quality products at their doorstep are among the few factors that have led to the success of this initiative. We value our members and strive to give them an excellent shopping experience," he added.

Walmart's ultimate target is to become a viable B2B supplier in India. On July 1, 2014, the supermarket chain inaugurated the B2B online shopping platform at its Best Price stores in Hyderabad and Lucknow.
