Vodafone India revenue rises 5% at Rs 44,490 crore for fiscal year '16

Vodafone India today reported a 5 per cent jump in total revenue at Rs 44,490 crore for the fiscal ended March 31, on the back of data growth and customer additions.

The company had posted a total revenue of Rs 42,378 crore in fiscal 2014-15.

The earnings before interest , taxes , depreciation and amortisation for the reported fiscal stood at Rs 13,115 crore as against Rs 12,598 crore in the previous year.

Data revenue grew 45 per cent to Rs 8,263 crore in Financial year 2016 as compared with Rs 5,690 crore last year.

"There is a strong uptake in data and our usage has gone up 63 per cent year-on-year. Shortly, our 4G services will be available in 1,000 towns across 9 circles in India," Vodafone India MD and CEO Sunil Sood said in a statement.

The company made a capital expenditure of Rs 8,010 crore during the year. Standalone net debt for Vodafone India for Financial year 2016 is around Rs 81,500 crore.

Vodafone said it has a subscriber base of 198 million customers serviced through a network of 1,37,332 total sites, of which 62,673 are 3G+4G sites.

The average revenue per user ( ARPU ) stood at Rs 205 in Q4 financial year 2016, supported by good quality of subscribers.
