The Indian aviation industry has seen a lot of ups and downs. It’s been one of the toughest sectors to survive in, thanks to soaring fuel costs, awfully high airport fees and slimming profit margins.
For ages airlines have been trying to grab the attention of Indian flyers with flashy ads and flash sales. That was all fine, but who knew they’ll take their brawl to social media as well.
For those unaware, here is how it all began.
It is indeed true that a picture paints a thousand words.

In the heat of the moment, it shot back:
We agree, @airvistara. But why not they fly the airline with the most Confuscianist tagline, With All Our Heart? :) https://t.co/O2dyAd6Sc5

Vistara took it with a pinch of salt. On Wednesday morning it replied:
Confucius or not, it's definitely for the love of travel that we are here :) https://t.co/NfUdg2FWII

Spice realized there’s no use crying over spilt milk, and called it quits.
@airvistara Truer words were seldom spoken! We are all truly united by the love for travel. Have a great day. With All Our Heart, #spicejet

This comes to light at a time when domestic carriers have to desperately cut corners to try and endure these tough times. Have Vistara-Spicejet relations bettered or embittered because of the social media fistfight? Your guess is as good as ours.(Image credit: Indiatimes and Spicejet)
