London startup Vinaya hit its $100,000 (£68,000) crowdfunding target on the Indiegogo platform in just 24 hours.

The Shoreditch company is raising money for its "Zenta" bracelet, which is designed to help people track their emotions.

Vinaya launched the Zenta device on Indiegogo on June 1 and by Friday evening over 250 investors had backed the product with $114,868 (£78,000.) The campaign will finish on June 20.

Vinaya CEO Kate Unsworth, said in a statement: "Vinaya left it to the consumers to decide whether a wearable like this should be brought to life and we've received an overwhelming 'yes' in reply.

"I'm delighted by the reaction so far and can't wait to get this product into the hands of consumers.

"2017 will be a year when wearable tech reaches new elevations: It now has the ability to beyond tracking fitness to tracking wellbeing holistically."

Zenta, due to start shipping early 2017, uses a range of biometric sensors to track wellbeing physically and mentally. Like Vinaya's earlier products, it connects with the users' phone to filter notifications and alerts. It has an RRP of $249 (£172) but it can be bought for $119 (£82) on Indiegogo.

Unsworth told Business Insider that she hopes to raise an additional round of investment after shipping devices bought through the crowdfunding campaign.
