US PMI Beats Estimates On Boost In Output And New Orders

Markit's January U.S. PMI report is out.

The headline index rose to 55.8 from last month's 54.0 reading. Economists were expecting the index to come in at 55.3.

Earlier in January, Markit released a flash estimate of 56.1.
