Two popular tourist hotels in Tunisia's Sousse are under attack

A variety of reports say that two tourist hotels in the Tunisian town of Sousse are underattack from gunfire.

The two hotels are identified by Sky as Hotel Bellevue and Royal Kenz Hotel.

Reports from Reuters and Sky say at least 19 people have been killed and two other people have been wounded.

According to a report by the Express, some of the tourists were shot while lying down on sunbeds. Graphic images of the slain tourists were posted on Instagram and put into the Express' report.

At least one of the gunmen was killed.

One eyewitness told Sky news: "We heard people saying there were guns on the beach. People were shooting on the beach, people are running around the hotel. No-one has really been told what to do."

Sousse is one of Tunisia's most popular tourist destinations. It is known as "the Pearl of the Sahel" due to its highly rated beaches.

However, in 2013, a 22-year-old Tunisian who blew himself up in the first suicide attack in a decade outside a four star hotel in the beach resort town.
