Two armed men have taken several hostage in a church in France

Two men armed with knives took several people hostage in a church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, a town in France's Normandy region.

The priest, two nuns and many churchgoers were taken hostage, according to French broadcaster France 3.

The hostage taking began around 9 a.m. local time in a church on the rue Gambetta.
