Twitter just named its new CMO
Berland started working at American Express in 2005 as the company's vice president of corporate communications. Berland previously worked for public relations agencies GCI Group and Ketchum.
Prior to Berland, Twitter CFO Anthony Noto had served as CMO since May of last year.
CEO Jack Dorsey announced the news in a tweet Tuesday morning. Re/code's Kara Swisher, though, reported Monday that Berland was likely to be the company's new CMO.
The news follows a rough few months for Twitter, which, since making founder Jack Dorsey CEO, has seen its share price plummet to an all-time low last week before experiencing a rebound, apparently triggered by a false rumor about a tie-up with News Corp.
