Tumblr users are freaking out after its app disappeared from the App Store

Tumblr's iOS app has mysteriously disappeared from the App Store.

Users of the microblogging platform have been tweeting about how they can't find the iPhone app.

On Tuesday, Tumblr wrote on its own Twitter account: "Some people have had issues with the iOS app logging them out. We're working on it and will update when we have more information."

It's unclear if the disappearance is linked to the update but it's likely that it is given that Tumblr's Android app appears to be unaffected.

It's also unclear if the disappearance is linked to the Tumblr hack that was reported earlier this week. Following the hack, which reportedly took place in early 2013, a database containing more than 65 million Tumblr emails was put up for sale on the darknet for just $150 (£103).

People that have previously downloaded the iOS Tumblr app can download it again in a few simple steps, according to this thread on Reddit.

Business Insider has contacted Tumblr and is waiting to hear back.
