Trump deleted his tweets that endorsed Luther Strange, after Roy Moore's win in Alabama

Following Alabama judge Roy Moore's projected win in the state's Senate primary on Tuesday night, President Donald Trump began deleting his tweets that supported Luther Strange, Moore's opponent in the race for the seat once held by Jeff Sessions.

Throughout the week leading up to the special election, Trump mentioned the candidates in four tweets, three of which were in support of "Big Luther," who was endorsed by establishment Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Strange's campaign raked in $11 million from donors, around 300% more than Moore, a controversial candidate endorsed by some far-right figures like Steve Bannon and his media outlet, Breitbart.

"ALABAMA, get out and vote for Luther Strange - he has proven to me that he will never let you down," one of Trump's deleted tweets read.

"Big election tomorrow in the Great State of Alabama. Vote for Senator Luther Strange, tough on crime & border - will never let you down," read another deleted tweet.

The most recent of Trump's deleted tweets included congratulatory remarks for Moore and applause for Strange's efforts in a "good race."
