The rear, though, is pretty mellow and resembles the same egg-shaped design that you see on many crossover SUVs.
Also, it features 22-inch wheels because, well, why not.
The gas-electric combined fuel economy rating is an impressive 87 MPG. The SUV also gets power delivered to all four wheels.
VW said in its press release that "This SUV show car combines the best of many automotive worlds: the comfort and spaciousness of a saloon, the superior traction of an off-road vehicle, the agility of a sport sedan and—thanks to innovative drive technologies—the efficiency of a compact car."
I wonder if that would all stay true if this car made it to production.
The screens can be controlled using touch, gesture, and voice controls.
And if that's not enough screen for you, there's a 9.6-inch screen between the two back seats, and one 10.1-inch tablet behind both of the front-seat headrests.
Your children will never go bored.
And of course a ton of room in the rear for whatever needs to come along on a long drive.
If the T-Prime GTE does make it to production, it will be a win for families and SUV-lovers everywhere.
Let's just hope it doesn't end up costing a fortune.
