City drive

City drive
Well city drive on Hexa is a bit of problem. The steering is on the heavier side and gives you the feel of the weight of the car. The torque of the car is good and so is the turning radius, which is why taking U-turn is butter-smooth. Also being a massive car, bigger than its rivals, you difficulty when parking in public places.

Safety

 Safety
In the recent time, when Renault Duster in Indian roads failed the crash test, you have to be cautious while investing your hard earned money in an SUV. We can’t comment on the crash test, but Tata Hexa has six airbags inside. Besides, there are ABS- ESP, traction control, hill-hold and hill descent control in the higher version.

Engine

Engine
Hexa has a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel Varicor 400 under its bonnet. The first time we turned the keys (yes there is no ignition button) during our review, we were amazed by the engine noise. While there is a bit murmur when the engine is idling, as the car is accelerated, the engine noise is smooth. The mileage that we got was 13 km a litre when driving on highway and 12km per litre in the city.

Business Insider India

The second row has two seats and taller people can comfortably sit. The third row is surprisingly spacious than its competitors. Also there is ample storage in the last row as well. The boot, after the third row is bit cramped.

The touch screen infotainment is decent. However the touch response has a room for improvement.

Interior

 Interior

The interior of Hexa is spacious and thanks to the ambient red lighting the mood for drive is set. There is a lot of storage – from sunglass holder to bottle storages, there is just a specified place for everything. The steering lacks reach adjustments, which is again a drawback of this massive car.

 Design

 Design
Tata’s Hexa has one solid design. It’s bold, muscular and suave at the same time. The ruggedness has been achieved by the dual hexagonal exhaust tips and the open five-spoke, brushed metal, 16-inch alloy wheels. The car is available in Arizona Blue,Tungsten Silver, Pearl White, Platinum Silver and Sky Grey.

 The Built

 The Built

Tata’s Aria flunked at design. This time the Hexa maker was extra cautious. And the result? Well it’s polished and elite, more suited for the profiles of the professionals graduating from foreign business schools, yet passionate about love and long drives.
The bonnet line and grille is upright with ample ground clearance. Hexagonal patterns in the front grille, a signature for new Tata cars, make Hexa look sexier. Adding boldness are the daytime running lamps, thick chrome in tail-lights and added chrome under the window base.
