When it came to appearance, the designer Aseem wanted a ‘clean look’. That means the bike does away any ‘non performing visual parts’. This means there isn’t a headlamp, instrument cluster, indicators and registration plates.

If you were planning to drive something lie this to office, don’t.

The Police have been intrinsically related to the thrill and mystique of riding bikes. In the earlier years, two-wheeler manufacturers used police chases and crazy races a lot in their advertising.

Shrikant from Maratha Motorcycles in Mumbai customized an old cast iron bullet into a Police appeal bike, aka Shaurya.

While the engine is still the 223cc unit you’d find in the Hero Honda Karizma, the main difference is that the Hero transmission carries only five speeds as opposed to the six speeds found in a café racer. The carburetor controlled variable ignition switch system gives the bike power to clock 0-60kmph in just 3.8 secs.

The bike’s USP is that this is no traditional body. The Mean Green Customs crew has spent a lot of time on the fuel tank, and the seat. The handlebar hugging mirrors are inscribed with the workshop logo, and emblazoned with little LED units which make for indicator lamps.

The foot pegs house the rear indicator lamps, and leave the rear clutter free.
