Toys R Us is staying open for 30 straight hours of Black Friday sales after filing for bankruptcy
- Black Friday hours at Toys R Us will last from 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day to 11 p.m. on Black Friday.
- That's 30 straight hours of in-store shopping.
- Babies R Us will not be open on Thanksgiving.
Toys R Us is sticking with its strategy of aggressively extending its Black Friday hours even after filing for bankruptcy in September.
Stores will open at 5 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving Day and remain open until 11 p.m. on Friday, November 24. That's 30 straight hours of shopping - a similar schedule to years past.
Babies R Us, on the other hand, will remain closed on Thanksgiving. Stores will open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday.
While Toys R Us has struggled to compete with the rise of Amazon and other ecommerce toys sellers, it seems the retailer is doubling down on in-store sales this holiday season.
"In 2016, the National Retail Federation found that nearly 100 million people shopped brick and mortar stores during Thanksgiving weekend," Toys R Us said in a press release on Monday.
