Abramovich announced his intention to sell before sanctions were levied.</p><p>In all the tumult surrounding the club, Chelsea fans have been reacting to the <keyword id="11893589" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="news" source="Orion">news</keyword>. There has been <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/tb7j81/chelsea_fans_chant_roman_abramovich_again_before/">chanting of Abramovich's name at matches</a>, something that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged fans to stop, branding the behavior as "completely inappropriate."</p><p>Sponsors of the club have also been left with a dilemma: stick with the club and risk the appearance of remaining associated with Abramovich or take a step back whilst the ownership situation is resolved.</p><p>Each of those decisions is sparking fan reaction online, with companies such as <keyword id="13407957" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="three" source="Orion">Three</keyword>, Hyundai, <keyword id="13407959" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="zapp" source="Orion">Zapp</keyword>, and <keyword id="13407958" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="trivago" source="Orion">Trivago</keyword> seeing an influx of reviews on Trustpilot. A statement on Three's website reads: "In light of the government's recently announced sanctions, we have requested Chelsea Football Club temporarily suspend our sponsorship of the club, including the removal of our brand from shirts and around the stadium until further notice."</p><p>Meanwhile, as the war in Ukraine continues, 3 Mobile is actively showing support for people fleeing the violence. The pinned post on the brand's Facebook page states: "We're offering a free Pay As You Go SIM card to anyone arriving from the conflict in Ukraine."</p><p>The most popular comments that appear under the post, however, come from fans voicing their disappointment of the Chelsea sponsorship pause, with some threatening to switch to another mobile provider. A comment with 446 like and love reactions read: "I've been with 3 for 15 years, I'll be terminating my contract at the earliest possible moment #cfc."</p><p>Fans also took to Twitter, making comments of a similar nature. <a href="https://twitter.com/kingoffutbal/status/1503023158575734794?s=20&amp;t=x2uthZFH47mzPQPFE-ijfg">One user wrote</a>: "@ThreeUK I was with BT mobile few years ago. I joined your network when 3 began working with Chelsea FC. Your decision to suspend your contract is senseless. Chelsea isn't sanctioned, Roman is. You have 7 days to restore the deal or I am leaving Three. *079*******01."</p><p>Delivery service Zapp has likewise put its marketing relationship with the club on hold for the time being. A spokesperson told Insider: "Given the ongoing uncertainty related to the ownership situation of <keyword id="12703990" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="chelsea-f-c-" source="Orion">Chelsea F.C.</keyword>, our marketing activities with the club have been paused. In the meantime, we trust that the UK government and Chelsea F.C. can find a solution that is in the interests of football fans and the local community as soon as possible."</p><p>They've also pledged to support the British Red Cross and their Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Customers have the option to donate in-app, and Zapp will match the charitable contributions.</p><p>Despite those efforts, however, 38 one-star ratings have been left on Zapp's Trustpilot profile over the past five days, with many explicitly referencing their suspended partnership with the club: "Don't bother coming back. I had made an account and ordered a lot of food because of your affiliation with Chelsea but since you want to leave because the government is on a witch-hunt leave and never come back."</p><p>Another review, titled "Bye bye good riddance Up the Chels. Awful company," said: "If you can't stick around during the lows and jump at first sight, do not think one bit that you can enjoy our success. You've shown your true colours. Not welcome and funny enough you need us 1000000x more than we even acknowledge you."</p><p>It should be noted that neither Three nor Zapp have severed ties with the club.</p><p>On the other side, Trivago, a hotel search platform, is receiving an influx of positive reviews. This comes after the company stated it will continue to support the club despite the sanctioning of Abramovich. In a press release, Trivago said: "Moving forward, it is important to us to continue supporting the club, the fans, and community along with the essential work that the Chelsea Foundation does to help those in need. We are looking forward to a transition of ownership as soon as possible and want to support the club in this process." </p><p>More than 300 five-star reviews have been left for the company since that announcement. They came with comments of thanks and support, with some users openly identifying themselves as Chelsea fans. One read: "Very Loyal and trustworthy. Best sponsor. The sky remains blue." Another made reference to other companies who have suspended club sponsorship, the user wrote: "Great company. Unlike some certain companies, trivago is very loyal and always stick with you in the difficult times, you can't go wrong with trivago. Best club in London? Chelsea Champions of Europe? Chelsea Best on earth? Kai Hotel? Trivago "</p><p>Trivago hasn't escaped negative online attention however, with some angry users leaving messages of disgust and disappointment. Nine one-star reviews appeared in the same time frame, with comments that include: "Appalling company with a staggering lack of morals. Blood on their hands as they continue to financially support a Putin enabler. Disgraceful." Another wrote: "Supporting war criminals. Shocking."</p><p>Not all fans are against the sanctions and acknowledge the need for them to be put in place. BBC Panorama interviewed fans in a new documentary "Roman Abramovich's Dirty Money." One said of the ex-owner, "He's too closely tied to Putin for us to ignore it anymore."</p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Tesla is acting like a meme stock right now, according to legendary bond investor Bill Gross.</li><li>Tesla stock has soared more than 40% amid a 10-day winning streak.</li></ul><p><a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/tsla-stock?miRedirects=1&amp;utm_medium=ingest&amp;utm_source=markets">Tesla</a> is acting like a meme stock right now, according to legendary bond manager Bill Gross.</p><p>In a post to X on Tuesday, Gross said of the electric vehicle company:</p><p>The comments from Gross come amid an ongoing surge in Tesla stock.</p><p>The stock <a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/tesla-stock-price-outlook-ev-rebound-rivian-lucid-elon-musk-2024-7">notched a 10-day win streak on Tuesday,</a> rising nearly 4%.</p><p>Tesla stock has surged 44% over the period, flipping its year-to-date loss of nearly the same amount in April to a 6% gain.</p><p>But according to Gross, those gains aren't warranted as the company has "sagging fundamentals."</p><p>Tesla <a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/tesla-stock-price-outlook-ev-rebound-rivian-lucid-elon-musk-2024-7">reported second-quarter vehicle deliveries last week,</a> and while the nearly 444,000 vehicles delivered last quarter beat analyst estimates by 8,000, they still represented a year-over-year decline of 5.8%.</p><p>The EV-maker has been struggling with demand due to increased competition as more automakers release competing models, as well as <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-blames-hybrids-for-lower-sales-2024-4?utm_medium=ingest&amp;utm_source=markets">from the growing popularity of hybrid cars.</a></p><p>The other stocks mentioned by Gross include <a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/chwy-stock">Chewy,</a> which saw an intraday gain of 36% in late June after Keith Gill tweeted a picture of a dog, <a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/zapp-stock">Zapp</a>, an electric vehicle maker that soared 496% over the past three days, and <a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/gme-stock">GameStop</a>, which soared as much as 271% after Keith Gill returned to social media in May.</p><p>Since their recent peaks, shares of Chewy and GameStop are down 38% and 62%, respectively, while Zapp is still in rally mode as of Tuesday's close.</p>

Tesla is acting like a meme stock right now, says billionaire 'Bond King' Bill Gross

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The Patriots have two quarterbacks contending for the starting job in New England.</li><li>This week, head coach Bill Belichick repeatedly side-stepped questions about who would take the top spot on the depth chart heading into Week 8.</li></ul><p>The Patriots faced a difficult question heading into their Monday night matchup against the Chicago Bears: Who should be starting at quarterback?</p><p>Mac Jones, who began the season as the starter after a relatively successful rookie campaign in 2021, was ready to return from an injury sustained earlier in the year.</p><p>Meanwhile, rookie Bailey Zappe, who had taken over the Patriots offense in Jones' stead, was playing well, and had led New England to two straight wins.</p><p>Jones ultimately got the start, but not without some ominous reports just before kickoff — according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there was a good chance <em>both</em> quarterbacks would get to play in primetime.</p><p>Barring injury, this is not what usually happens in professional football. But as it turned out, Schefter's report quickly proved correct.</p><p>After Jones struggled to start the game — he completed just three of six passes and threw an interception as the Patriots quickly fell into a 10-0 deficit — Belichick turned to Zappe in the second quarter.</p><p>Zappe provided an immediate spark to the offense, leading the Patriots on two quick touchdown drives to take a 14-10 lead. For a moment, it felt as though the matter was settled.</p><p>But the moment didn't last long. In the second half, Zappe threw two interceptions of his own, struggling much the same way Jones had, and New England ultimately lost 33-14.</p><p>After the game, Zappe revealed that going into the day, he hadn't known who was starting.</p><p>Now two days removed from the game, Belichick continues to keep his messaging cloudy, apparently determined to not reveal who his starting quarterback is until absolutely necessary.</p><p>On Tuesday, he dismissed questions about the depth chart as "hypothetical."</p><p>On Wednesday, Belichick continued to hold his poker face.</p><p>"We'll see how it goes today," he repeatedly told reporters as they pressed for an answer.</p><p>Belichick has always handled the media in his own way, whether insisting his team <a href="https://twitter.com/JoeGiza/status/786218040706732032" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was "on to Cincinnati,"</a> or offering extremely <a href="https://twitter.com/DakRandallNESN/status/1582761386047700993" target="_blank" rel="noopener">detailed, if long-winded, exaltations on upcoming opponents</a>.</p><p>As Zappe explained after Monday's game, Belichick seems fine to even withhold the decision from his own players.</p><p>That said, he can only keep this particular wall of silence up for so long.</p><p>On Wednesday, just hours after Belichick's latest stonewalling, ESPN's Field Yates reported that Jones had taken the majority of snaps in practice and was set to start on Sunday.</p><p>Just how much Belichick will have to say about Jones taking the starting job remains to be seen.</p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Final bids to buy Chelsea FC, the soccer team owned by <keyword id="13278280" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="roman-abramovich" source="Orion">Roman Abramovich</keyword>, were submitted last week.</li><li>F1 icon <keyword id="11953262" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="lewis-hamilton" source="Orion">Lewis Hamilton</keyword> has now joined one of the remaining bids, his team confirmed Thursday.</li></ul><p>Two of the world's biggest sporting stars have joined a bid to buy <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/chelsea-fc">London soccer team Chelsea</a> from the sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/chelsea-fc-sale-sir-lewis-hamilton-and-serena-williams-pledge-funds-to-broughton-bid-12594861">Sky News reported Thursday.</a></p><p>A representative for seven-time <keyword id="11953260" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="formula-one" source="Orion">Formula One</keyword> world champion <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/lewis-hamilton">Lewis Hamilton</a> confirmed to Insider that he has joined a consortium led by the British businessman Martin Broughton to buy Chelsea.</p><p><a href="https://news.sky.com/story/chelsea-fc-sale-sir-lewis-hamilton-and-serena-williams-pledge-funds-to-broughton-bid-12594861">Sky had earlier reported</a> his involvement, saying that <keyword id="11897437" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="tennis" source="Orion">tennis</keyword> icon <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/serena-williams">Serena Williams</a> has also joined the bid.</p><p>Sky reported that both Hamilton and Williams have pledged around $13 million of funding to the multibillion dollar deal, though Hamilton's team denied that figure.</p><p>Williams is yet to confirm her involvement, and Serena Ventures did not respond to a request for comment from Insider.</p><p>Broughton's is one of three bids currently being considered: The others are from a group led by <a href="https://www.insider.com/chelsea-sale-todd-boehly-josh-harris-and-david-blitzer-frontrunners-2022-3">Todd Boehly, the co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team</a>, and from Stephen Pagliuca, who part-owns both the NBA's Boston Celtics and Italian soccer team Atalanta.</p><p>Abramovich, a billionaire with close ties to President Vladimir Putin, <a href="https://www.insider.com/chelsea-fc-for-sale-american-owners-want-to-buy-club-2022-3">put Chelsea up for sale shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine in February</a>, saying that his continued involvement in the club was an unnecessary distraction. A decision on which bid Raine will submit to the UK government is expected in the coming days.</p><p>While it is unclear which bid will be successful, Broughton's consortium is unique in being helmed by a Brit. Lewis Hamilton confirms he has joined bid to buy Roman Abramovich's soccer team, with Serena Williams also reportedly involved

The new OnZoom platform includes the ability to charge for tickets, as well as a directory of public event listings.</li><li>Zoom is also launching a new kind of app integration, called a Zapp, that can bring information from productivity tools like Dropbox, Slack, or Asana directly into a video chat.</li><li>Facebook launched its own features for paid videoconferencing events over the summer.</li></ul><p>As the pandemic drags on, Zoom is releasing a new way to host online events — importantly, now including paid events — as well as new types of apps that integrate outside business and productivity tools like Slack, Dropbox, and Asana<strong> </strong>directly into Zoom meetings, the company announced Wednesday. </p><p>Zoom has become a household name amid shelter in place and social distancing mandates, with users turning to the videoconferencing app to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zoom-popularity-coronavirus-video-calling-microsoft-google-cisco-2020-3">host events from board meetings and conferences to yoga classes and concerts</a>. It's l<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zoom-meteoric-rise-2020-charts-revenue-earnings-coronavirus-remote-work-2020-9">ed Zoom's business to skyrocket</a>, but also forced the company to rethink its ambitions beyond its original <keyword id="6356323" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="enterprise">enterprise</keyword> approach. </p><p>The online event platform, called OnZoom, adds features to Zoom that make it easier to host online events — notably, by allowing event organizers to sell tickets for paid events on Zoom, thanks to an integration with PayPal. There will also be an event marketplace, where people can find and sign up for public events, free and paid.</p><p>At launch, the events platform is only available to US users, but will be available more globally next year. There's no additional fee for paid users to try out OnZoom through the end of 2020, but Zoom says that it plans to revisit the possibility of taking a cut of ticket sales next year. </p><p>Notably, Facebook announced something similar earlier this year, allowing businesses, creators, educators and media publishers to <a href="https://about.fb.com/news/2020/08/paid-online-events/">host paid events on Facebook Live or its Messenger Rooms app</a>. Facebook has said it won't collect fees from tickets sales until at least August 2021.</p><p>The catch is that you will have to be a paid Zoom user to set up events with OnZoom, with a capacity ranging from 100 attendees, up to 1,000 for enterprise users. For anything larger, users can livestream the event with a Zoom Webinar license. </p><p>The company bills it as being well-suited for other companies to host their own conferences, for fitness instructors to hold paid lessons, for nonprofits to set up fundraising events and many other use cases.</p><p>The company also promises that OnZoom will have security features built in, allowing hosts to monitor and moderate attendee behavior, as well as a system for users to report their fellow attendees.</p><p>Earlier this year, Zoom became known for so-called "Zoom-bombing," when uninvited guests would crash a meeting and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zoom-fixing-security-concerns-video-call-safety-issues-hurt-popularity-2020-4">display pornography or other not-safe-for-work imagery,</a> though it later updated its platform with <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zoom-end-to-end-encryption-update-all-free-paid-users-2020-6">new privacy controls that largely put a stop to the practice</a>.</p><p>Zoom is also making it easier to access third party applications from within its platform. It's introducing a new type of app to its marketplace, called a Zapp, which allows users to open apps like Dropbox, Slack, and Asana directly within a Zoom meeting. While Zoom has long supported app integrations, they were mostly focused on allowing users to start a video call from within other apps.</p><p>With these so-called Zapps, users can do things like share a document in a call, send a poll, or pull up a team's tasks and projects right on screen. Third-party developers will be able to build apps for Zoom as well, and the company says that so far, 35 outside firms have signed up to build Zapps.
