There’s no confirmed date yet but some iPhone users can start using the feature. This is however exclusive only to YouTube Premium users. If you’re a YouTube Premium subscriber and on an iPhone you can finally start using the PiP mode. This feature is actually an experiment that YouTube Premium users can try out, according to a <a href="https://9to5google.com/2021/08/24/youtube-picture-in-picture-iphone/" data-type="tilCustomLink">report</a> by 9to5Google. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use <keyword id="11946588" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="youtube-pip-mode" source="Orion">YouTube PiP mode</keyword> on iPhone. <ol><li>Open <a href="http://www.youtube.com/new">www.youtube.com/new</a> on a web browser. </li><li>Scroll down to look for “Picture-in-picture on iOS” and then select try it out. </li><li>You will be asked to sign in to your YouTube account. </li><li>Then play a video on YouTube and swipe up or press the home button to close the app. </li><li>The video will continue playing in a mini player.</li></ol>YouTube PiP mode also enables background play so even if you lock your iPhone the audio will continue playing in the background. This will work for YouTube Music as well since background play is available only to premium subscribers. The YouTube PiP mode on iOS page also shows Oct 31, 2021 as the end date for this feature which could mean that the official release will take place then. How to use YouTube picture-in-picture (PiP) mode on iOS

New Delhi, March 31 (IANS) <keyword id="2041256" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="youtube-tv" source="Orion">YouTube TV</keyword> on Thursday announced that it has started rolling out picture-in-picture (<keyword id="876679" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="pip" source="Orion">PiP</keyword>) to its iPhone and <keyword id="101239" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ipad" source="Orion">iPad</keyword> app. "We are happy to share that picture-in-picture is now rolling out to your iOS 15+ devices. Simply select a video to watch and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to the device's homepage. The video can scale down and move across your screen," the firm said in a tweet. However, picture-in-picture support is not yet available for all mobile users of the YouTube application. "We really appreciate your patience while we worked on enabling this key feature for your iOS 15+ devices. We hope you enjoy this easy way to stream," the firm added. PiP makes watching videos easier, people can use their iPhone or iPad to multitask while also watching. The feature will allow the video to stay on the screen in a minimised player with concentrated playback controls. YouTube TV brings picture-in-picture support for iPhones and iPads

Google-owned <keyword id="10879" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="YouTube">YouTube</keyword> has reportedly started testing the picture-in-picture (PiP) mode for its <keyword id="1066331" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="iOS-application">iOS application</keyword>. According to a report in 9TO5Mac, the mode is available for <keyword id="510992" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="iPad-users">iPad users</keyword> since <keyword id="2285398" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ios-9">iOS 9</keyword> and Apple has also enabled the feature for its <keyword id="6354606" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="iPhone">iPhone</keyword> range with iOS 14 update. YouTube has started testing native support for the picture-in-picture mode in its iOS app. The feature is only working with a few videos at the moment, meaning that YouTube is still testing the feature with a limited number of users. Once a user has the mode enabled, it would work just like in any other app that supports it. One can start playing a video and then close the app to continue watching it in a smaller window. The video floats over the iOS home screen or any other app the users are using. YouTube only allows users to playback videos in the background if they subscribe to YouTube Premium, which means PiP may be restricted to paying users. The new group privacy setting allows users to select who can add them to groups. Users have the option to select between ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’ and ‘My Contacts Except’. Group call button After introducing group calls earlier, WhatsApp this year added a dedicated group call button to group chats. This button allows users to pick up to four participants and directly place a group call from a group chat. Forwarded and Frequently Forwarded labels WhatsApp initially introduced a ‘Forwarded’ label to messages that were forwarded from one chat to another. Later, the company introduced the ‘Frequently Forwarded’ label that is added to a message that has been forwarded more than four times. The introduction of these labels from WhatsApp aims to fight fake news. There have been several cases where false information was shared on WhatsApp. Consecutive voice messages WhatsApp added consecutive voice message feature to both, Android and iOS versions of the app. This allows users to play consecutive voice messages automatically, instead of having to play each voice message manually. Private reply WhatsApp introduced the reply privately feature for groups. This allows users in groups to highlight a particular message in the group chat and reply privately to the sender of the message. Share WhatsApp status to Facebook As you may already know, WhatsApp is owned by Facebook. The app recently introduced a new feature that allows users to share their WhatsApp stories to Facebook Stories. When you post a status on WhatsApp, a share to Facebook button now appears in the status tab. Opi stickers Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced a new Opi sticker pack designed by Colombian illustrator Oscar Ospina. The pack features a white colored bear expressing different emotions and includes as many as 30 stickers. Improved PiP mode WhatsApp also introduced an improved picture-in-picture mode for its app on Android and iOS. This allows users to play videos from YouTube, Facebook and Instagram even after switching chats. After a recent update, users can now also play Netflix trailers using the picture-in-picture mode. WhatsApp Business WhatsApp for Business was launched as a dedicated app to allow businesses to connect to their customers. It is available in India, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, the UK, and the US and is expected to rollout to other countries soon. All features added to the messaging app this year

The first version of macOS, codenamed Sierra, launches this fall as a free update for most Macs. But there's a public beta version out now, and I've been testing it for the last week or so.There are tons of changes in Sierra, and they all add up to a big, significant update for the Mac.So what can you expect? Time to dive in.<h2>Siri</h2>Let's start with Siri, since that's the biggest and most significant new feature coming to Sierra.This isn't the same Siri you're used to. Yes, it can tell you a joke or give you weather and sports updates. But Siri on Mac has been retooled to perform a lot of desktop-specific tasks, like searching for files or adjusting settings that tend to be buried under layers of menus.Some examples: "Turn on Bluetooth." "How much iCloud storage do I have left?" "Show me my music files." "Show me documents I worked on yesterday." And so on.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Screenshot/Tech Insider</div></div></div>My favorite feature so far is email search. I spend a lot of time digging through my inbox for the last email my editor sent me or a specific attachment. It's so much easier to say, "show me emails from So-And-So" instead. It's also nice to have image, Twitter, and web search baked right in, especially when you're working in an app and need to look something up quickly. You can also drag content from the Siri window into the app you're working on. All of these are thoughtful improvements.On the other hand, a lot of the features feel like they belong on the iPhone and were forced onto the Mac. It's a bit awkward to dictate text messages and emails on your computer, especially when you have a big ol' keyboard right in front of you. You're better off ignoring that aspect of Siri.I only have two major issues with Siri on the Mac:First, there's the awkwardness. As I tested Sierra over the last week, I got a lot of snickers in the office as I queried my Mac to find files or search through emails. It got really embarrassing when Siri didn't understand me one time and replied, "I'm not sure what you said there, Spider-Man." Everyone laughed. (It's a long story, but I got kind of drunk over Labor Day last year and thought it'd be funny to ask Siri to call me Spider-Man from now on. I forgot about that until this week. Now all my colleagues know I'm an even bigger dork than they thought.)Maybe one day we'll live in a future where it's normal to talk to your computer instead of typing or clicking a mouse, but it feels out of place today.Then there's Spotlight, which got a big update last year that lets you use natural language to search your Mac and check stuff like sports scores or weather. But a year later, Siri can do pretty much everything Spotlight can do and then some. It's strange that Apple decided to leave Spotlight on the Mac instead of adding a text field to type into in Siri. You basically have two assistants for the same thing now, and they live right next to each other in your taskbar. I can see those two features merging together one day, but it's odd that Apple would spend so much time improving Spotlight last year when it was about to add Siri to the Mac.Overall, it's obvious that we're in the early days of Siri on the Mac. While it's wonderful for searching the web and files on your computer, it's not going to radically change the way you use macOS.<h2>Photos</h2>Photos is the next biggest update to macOS. Just like in the upcoming iOS 10, Apple built in a new artificial intelligence system that can scan the content of your photos and automatically group them into albums and slideshows. It's also really useful for search - just look up "baby" or "dog" or "house" or a person's name you've tagged and you'll get exactly that.These improvements are very similar to Google Photos, which launched last year, except for one key difference. Instead of crunching all the data in the cloud like Google does, Apple Photos analyzes everything locally on your Mac without sharing anything with Apple. In theory, this'll keep your content much more private than it is with Google.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Screenshot/Tech Insider</div></div></div>I've been using Google Photos for a year now, so I'm not ready to make a call and say one service is better than the other. Since I have all my photos in Google, I've only taken a few dozen since I started testing Sierra last week. It'll take a few more months before I can tell if it's working as well as Apple says.So far though, Photos was able to automatically make an album of my trip to San Francisco for Apple's WWDC event and show me photos of my adorable new cat Larry when I searched for "cat." While Facebook and Google spend a lot of effort scanning your photos on their own servers, it's really impressive Apple figured out how to do something similar while still keeping your photos private on your machine.<h2>iMessage</h2>No other app got more attention at last week's WWDC keynote than iMessage. It's about to get a massive overhaul, essentially turning it into Apple's own social network.The Mac version of iMessage is also getting all those features too - from bigger emojis to rich information when you paste a link. It's a huge, significant update to Apple's most popular app. It worked well for me so far in Sierra, but it'll be even better once iOS 10 is available and more people can start using it.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Screenshot/Tech Insider</div></div></div><h2>Picture-in-picture video</h2>I didn't realize how much video I watch on my computer while doing other work. A lot of times I'll keep a video playing while I listen to the audio and work in another browser tab, which is less than ideal. But in Sierra, you can pop videos out of the browser with picture-in-picture (PiP) video.PiP lets you float videos from the web or iTunes on top of all your other apps. You can resize and position the video anywhere on your screen. So far, ESPN and Vimeo are the only sites that support PiP, but there's nothing stopping YouTube and the rest from adding it too. (I'd be shocked if YouTube didn't have PiP ready in time for Sierra's launch this fall.)<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Screenshot/Tech Insider</div></div></div>There's one major downside though. PiP only works with Safari, so you're out of luck if you use Chrome, Firefox, or something else.<h2>Other stuff</h2>There are loads of other relatively minor features coming to Sierra, and many of them won't be ready until later versions of the beta or when the iOS 10 beta is available to the public next month. Here's a list of what else to expect, and you can get even more details in my full tour of the Sierra beta.<ul><li>You can unlock your computer without a password if you're wearing an Apple Watch.</li><li>Apple Pay works in Safari if the retailer supports it.</li><li>Sierra will automatically optimize your Mac's storage by temporarily removing files you don't need, like movies you've watched in iTunes. You can re-download those files from iCloud later when you need them.</li><li>Apple Music has a new, bolder design, but (unfortunately) iTunes looks the same as always.</li><li>Files on your desktop also save to your iCloud account and appear on all your devices.</li><li>You can copy/paste items between your iPhone and Mac if your iPhone is running iOS 10. (This will be huge.)</li></ul><h2>Conclusion</h2>That's a lot of stuff!Other than Siri, there aren't many major changes to the way macOS works. But add all those iterative improvements up, and Sierra feels like a hefty update. Even though <a href="https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/">you can get the beta now</a>, I don't recommend installing it on your primary Mac since there are still a few bugs Apple has to iron out before the fall. The new operating system for Mac is a huge update

<div class="image-container float_right" style="width:400px"><div class="image"></div><a href="http://tracking-point.com/">via TrackingPoint</a></div>A few months back we covered a new 'TrackingPoint' rifle sight that "<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/new-trackingpoint-rifle-sight-2012-11">turns every shooter into a sniper</a>," and recently they presented their <keyword id="6356319" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="weapons">weapons</keyword> and sights at the massive techie gathering CES.
The verdict: its even cooler than we anticipated.
Lee Hutchinson (who actually got to pull the trigger!) of ArsTechnica gave TrackingPoint <a href="http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/01/17000-linux-powered-rifle-brings-auto-aim-to-the-real-world/">a sweet write up</a> that everyone should read — but in short:
- You can Wifi the sight to an iPad through a TrackingPoint iOS app, so spotters can help shooters get on target using Apple's tablet.
- The Linux operating system powers the scope
- The scope doesn't project an image, it records a video, which is then screened before the eye.
- That video can then be posted up on YouTube (yes, that prize Alaskan Bear kill will be immortalized without use of a taxidermist)
And finally, squeezing the trigger, from ArsTechnica:
TrackingPoint is quick to emphasize the rifle doesn't fire "by itself," but rather the trigger's pull force is dynamically raised to be very high until the reticule and pip coincide, at which point the pull force is reset to its default.
In the mockups the company had on display for the press to experiment with, the action appeared to be the same—I pulled the trigger and lined up the dots and the blue plastic toy gun went click.
Simply awesome.
Not so awesome — price point: $17,000.
Well I won't be buying one soon, but I can always live vicariously through Hutchinson, who noted that the company downplayed any <keyword id="6359526" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Military">military</keyword> application. TrackingPoint, aware of the proximity of the Sandy Hook shootings, noted that their three models are for 'bolt action' <keyword id="71847" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Hunting">hunting</keyword> rifles, not semi-automatic weapons.
