<ul><li>IIMs aside, other B-schools like Faculty of Management Studies Delhi and <keyword id="481185" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Management-Development-Institute">Management Development Institute</keyword> (MDI) students also receive high paying job offers. </li><li><keyword id="1938161" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="FMS-Delhi">FMS Delhi</keyword> recorded its highest ever average salary package at ₹25.6 lakh while the highest package went up to ₹58.6 lakh per annum. </li><li>Meanwhile, the average compensation at MDI too increased by 9.5% at ₹22.05 lakh. </li><li>Both the institutions clocked in 100% placements this season. </li></ul><keyword id="53914" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institutes-of-Management">Indian Institutes of Management</keyword> (IIMs) have achieved iconic status for their courses, faculty and of course the high paying job offers. But it is not just these students who are walking away with the best of salary offers. Students of other B-schools like Faculty of Management Studies Delhi and Management Development Institute (MDI) are receiving salary offers that are just as good. This year, on average, FMS Delhi students received job offers that paid ₹25.6 lakh. The best paying job offer went as high as ₹58.6 lakh per annum. This is the kind of high paying salaries that are generally associated with IIMs, XLRI and others. Thanks to A-list recruiters like Capgemini, McKinsey &amp; Co, Flipkart, Airtel and Xiaomi, almost 75% of FMS students received offers that paid above ₹20 lakh. That is three in four students. For the top performing quartile, the salaries went as high as ₹37.5 lakh. Though FMS ranks 35th in top Indian B-schools, the students who get admission to this Delhi University-affiliated college have to score 99% in CAT. In fact, across elite schools average compensations have been growing in spite of the slowdown. The increased demand for digital skills across job roles seems to be working in favour of fresh graduates. “When you talk about digital businesses, they will definitely look at retaining talent with digital skills. The e-commerce sector has seen the highest growth, in terms of hiring at nearly 141%, compared to last year,” Kanwal Kapil, Dean of Placements at MDI<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/careers/news/amazon-becomes-the-top-recruiter-at-mdi-gurgaon-with-a-40-5-lakh-offer/articleshow/73545137.cms"> told </a>Business Insider. As many as 130 students received job offers at SRCC. “We haven't seen an overall impact of the slowdown in placements. The number of companies coming has more or less remained the same since last year, however the number of students that were made an offer to have increased,” Kanika K Ahuja, placement in-charge at LSR told ET. The students who get admission to these Delhi University-affiliated colleges have to score over 95% in the 12th grade — due to high cut-offs. Among the top recruiters were Gartner, EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Samsung and Accenture. The highest offer stood at ₹18 lakh per annum. The average compensation at other DU colleges fluctuated between ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh per annum. While the overall average salaries in India went up by 45% for undergraduate students. This is despite the economic downturn in the country. Companies like Deutsche Bank, Citi Bank are also banking on summer placements to assess talent, thereby extending pre-placement offers. The 10 Best Business Schools in India

For fourth year B-Tech student <keyword id="4048862" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="yash-choudhari">Yash Choudhari</keyword>, who hails from Maharashtra, scoring a 100 percentile in the CAT exam meant he would get his big ticket to his dream college - IIM Ahmedabad or Bangalore. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/cat-2016-toppers-reveal-how-they-scored-100-percentile-in-one-of-indias-toughest-exam/articleshow/56425007.cms">If he does, he is ready to turn down the job offer he already has from placements in his college</a>. 
 But it's a different story for another topper <keyword id="13079" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rahul-Sharma">Rahul Sharma</keyword> who hails from Delhi. Sharma didn't want to get into an IIM, because he is already an IIM-Ahmedabad Graduate. That means he was taking the CAT test for the second time, but he had an entirely different purpose to appear for the exams this year. 
 Ask him, and he says he wanted to teach his students how to score well. Having successfully cleared the CAT exam earlier, and graduating from IIM Ahmedabad in 2011, Rahul spends his time counselling and coaching students at <keyword id="70041" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Career-Launcher">Career Launcher</keyword> institute in Delhi. 
 
He took the exam to score a perfect 100, because till he didn't have it to his credit, how would his students consider him to be their idol. 
 
Now, meet another CAT topper from Kolkata- Nilanjan Dutta. He too scored a perfect 100 percentile in CAT 2016. 
 
An XLRI Jamshedhpur passout, Dutta currently works as Business Consultant with an IT Firm. He too topped the CAT exams, but says he has no plans of taking admissions in any of the IIMs. Satisfied with his current job, he says he just appeared for the exam for his self-satisfaction! 
 
Dutta did not taking any coaching on purpose, and wanted to prove his self-worth. "In 2011, I gave my first attempt and scored 99.43 percentile. I just wanted to get 100 percentile for once." 
 
His takeaway from CAT 2016 and a sincere advice to future aspirants is -“A lot of students often end up wasting time over tough questions and become over-ambitious about attempting more questions. Instead, think of it carefully and attempt just the number of questions needed.” 
 
Choudhari, meanwhile, feels that the CAT test has become easier over the years. When he appeared for it back in 2008, "it was still on pen and paper. Now, it has to be taken online". He didn't have too much of an advice for students, but his takeaway was - there is a need for teachers/coaches to keep up with the times.
