In what could be a revolution in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=nanotechnology">nanotechnology</a>, a group of scientists have created a lens which is thinner than human hair, which is pegged as world’s thinnest lens. 
 
Australian scientists have claimed that they have developed a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=lens">lens</a> which is 2,000 times thinner than human hair. 
 
The finished lens is 6.3 nanometres in size as compared to the previous smallest lens which was 50 nanometres thick. 
 
ABC News reported that the lens, which is created by a team of researchers led by Yuerui 'Larry' Lu from Australian National University (ANU), could have revolutionary applications in medicine, science and technology and it could be used to create bendable <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=computer">computer</a> screens. 
"This type of material is the perfect candidate for future flexible displays," Lu said. 
 
Another application of the Australian-made lens could be arrays of micro-lenses that mimic the compound eyes of insects. 
 
Lu who led the Nano-Electro-Mechanical System (NEMS) Laboratory in ANU Research School of Engineering, said a crystal called molybdenum disulphide was the special ingredient. 
 
Researchers shaved off layers of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=crystal+atom">crystal atom</a> by atom in a bid to create an object with the domed shape of a lens and the delicate operation used an ion beam, something commonly used in electronics manufacturing. 
 
At one stage in the process, scientists used sticky tape to peel off a sliver of crystal from which they crafted the final product. 
 
Lu said manipulating the flow of light at an atomic scale could lead to unprecedented miniaturisation in the making of cameras.

With a Super AMOLED display, its 4:3 screen ratio ensures better reading and browsing experience than any other Tabs available in the market. “The Galaxy Tab S2 combines features that enhance productivity and usability for a complete user experience powered by 4G data connectivity and speed. <ul><li>The Razr 40 Ultra will feature 3.6- inch external screen.</li><li>In anticipation of its launch, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra has made its appearance on <keyword id="18635" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="amazon" source="Orion">Amazon</keyword>'s listings.</li><li>The outer panel of the Razr 40 Ultra will provide users with the ability to personalize shortcuts and enjoy support for a wide range of applications.</li></ul>Motorola has recently introduced the Motorola Razr 40 and 40 Ultra models in China and subsequently announced the availability of the Razr 40 Ultra in India. The company has created an Amazon microsite featuring the official specifications of the device's latest iteration. The Razr 40 Ultra, as mentioned on the microsite, will showcase the "world's largest" cover display and claim the title of the thinnest flip smartphone ever produced. The external screen of the smartphone will measure 3.6 inches and feature a pOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, along with a resolution of 1056x1066. Gorilla Glass Victus will protect the screen for added durability. The upcoming foldable Android phone will mark Motorola's third venture into the clamshell design. In the past, Motorola introduced the Moto Razr foldable phone in 2020 and subsequently released an updated version in 2021. However, the latest iteration of the smartphone showcases a significantly revamped design that sets it apart from its predecessors. Living hand-to-mouth is a dangerous game. I have written, spoken about and recently published <a href="https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/pivot-joanne-soliday/1129952440">a book</a> examining this very topic. COVID-19 will certainly be the catalyst that pushes some of these institutions over the edge.Scott Galloway, a professor of marketing at the New York University, took this new reality and its challenges and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/scott-galloway-colleges-must-cut-costs-to-survive-covid-2020-7">attempted to build a predictive model of higher-education survival</a>. Unfortunately, his article and supporting analysis reveals myriad flaws, from overreliance on Google search terms to using just a select few U.S. News and World Report variables to determine student value.But one fatal statistical flaw reveals a more pervasive and insidious issue: While I can't speak for other schools, in Maryville's case, Professor Galloway listed only our full-time traditional enrollment (3,308) in his analysis. Our total enrollment is well over 10,500. He ignored completely our online undergraduate and graduate populations. This oversight neglects nearly 70% of a vibrant and growing revenue stream. <h2>I'm not surprised by the slip.</h2>Galloway's analysis simply echoes the outdated belief (an old-school, elitist attitude, frankly) that many in the <keyword id="6375224" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="higher-education">higher education</keyword> space still hold: Online learning can never equal on-campus learning. Online learning has been devalued and denigrated as a second-class experience, lacking the academic rigor and pedagogic vitality of in-person instruction. The nation-wide scramble to implement <keyword id="9171976" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="remote-learning">remote learning</keyword> curricula this spring is evidence of higher <keyword id="6355445" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="education">education</keyword>'s failure to embrace even the most basic core competencies of online learning.But not every school is like that. Schools like <a href="https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/st-louis-u-maryville-cancel-in-person-classes-to-help-reduce-spread-of-coronavirus/article_76ac9184-a0f5-51a6-8aed-fbcc2fa8886c.html">Maryville</a>, <a href="https://edtechmagazine.com/higher/article/2020/08/looking-back-moving-forward-preparing-unknown">Arizona State</a>, <a href="https://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/releases/2020/Q2/purdue-classes-make-strong-switch-to-online-during-covid-19.html">Purdue Global</a>, and others are national leaders in robust, interactive online learning, and as such, they did not suffer or falter when the switch to virtual became a public health imperative. How do we know we are leaders? Look at the numbers. Maryville projects having over 7,000 online learners pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Our year-to-year growth rate has averaged 15%, and our career placement rate has <a href="https://www.maryville.edu/mpress/record-enrollment/">averaged over 97%</a> for the past several years.Since we launched our <a href="https://www.maryville.edu/digitalworld/">Digital World initiative</a> with Apple in 2015 our traditional, on-ground enrollment has grown from 1,600 to well over 3,000 students. Combined with our continued expansion of online degree programs, we've achieved double-digit, year-over-year increases in our enrollment. For this, we've been recognized by the <a href="https://www.chronicle.com/article/fastest-growing-colleges-2007-17/">Chronicle of Higher Education</a> as one of the top-four fastest-growing private non-profit institutions in the country. I daresay those are not the hallmarks of an institution at risk of perishing. <h2>There is a reckoning in higher education, but it is not what Galloway thinks.</h2>It is the reckoning that finally, higher education must embrace principles of access, opportunity, and affordability and not hide behind an antiquated notion that whatever school is more expensive and more exclusive is better. That very attitude has closed the doors of higher education to millions of people of color and from underrepresented groups. That bias must end. I urge my fellow collegiate leaders to shed outdated beliefs and practices steeped in educational elitism. It is well past time to jettison antiquated ideas of how we deliver higher education. Leaders must be open to seeing their world through a new lens for a new era. That starts with realizing that affordable, accessible education in both on-ground and online platforms is the only way forward. At a time, when most of us complain that almost every smartphone looks alike and offers more or less the same features, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ASUS">Asus </a>is trying to create a demarcation with its ‘photography-focused’ Zenfones. While its previous Zenfones did manage to grap Indian’s heart, this time Asus has placed all its bets on the Zenfone Zoom, which it claims is its most advanced photography-focused smartphone. It is currently retailing on <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> for a price of Rs 37,999 ad starting February 2016, it will be available on ASUS exclusive stores as well. 

	So, what makes this<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=smartphones+"> smartphone </a>different? Its camera. In Zenfone Zoom you get world’s thinnest 3x optical-zoom that lets you get real close to the objects and capture moments with same clarity as you do with your digital cameras. Saying that image quality would be same that your <keyword id="37530" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Canon">Canon</keyword>, Nikon or Sony cameras offer would be wrong, but yes, Zenfone Zoom comes quiet close. Yesterday, when the company unveiled the phone at a gala event held in Agra, we had a brush with 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter, and found that detailing and clarity was quiet decent. Perhaps, it is the 10-element HOYA lens arrangement, dual-LED real Tone flash, and 0.03 seconds laser auto-focus that helped us get crystal clear pictures indoors. We will be testing out the device outdoors to see how smart Zenfone Zoom’s camera is and if it is any worthy to be called a DSLR killer in few days after we’d be through with our review. For the first impression it sure looks good. 

	Besides camera, Zenfone Zoom also has a decent hardware and unibody design to boast of. You get an expansive 5.5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD IPS display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, a quad-core 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, 128 GB storage and a 3,000mAh Li-Polymer battery. We don’t know why Asus didn’t announce the 64GB variant of Zenfone Zoom in India, which is otherwise available in other global locations. Perhaps, the company plans to bring it here later but we can’t say for sure. Let’s wait till they make an announcement and stay tuned with us for an in-depth analysis of Zenfone Zoom’s camera.
