The offering allows communications service providers and mobile tower operators to deploy their applications into dispersed edge devices. "Our strong telecommunication domain capabilities coupled with leadership in cloud &amp; infrastructure lifecycle and investment in the recently-launched 'Wipro IBM Novus Lounge' equips us well to deliver these industry-specific solutions," said KR Sanjiv, Chief Technology Officer, Wipro. Wipro is joining the IBM Edge Ecosystem, an initiative to help partners implement open standards-based cloud native solutions that can be deployed and autonomously manage edge applications at large scale. Wipro's solutions combined with 'IBM Edge Application Manager' and 'IBM TRIRIGA' is expected to address a range of concerns related to deploying and managing globally distributed services on devices, private edges and telecom operator's Multi Access Edges. The 5G edge services solutions suite integrates various edge computing solutions from IBM. "The convergence of 5G and edge computing is set to spark new levels of innovation, and this, in turn, will fuel a broad ecosystem of providers to co-create for a growing set of edge opportunities," said <keyword id="9626211" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="evaristus-mainsah">Evaristus Mainsah</keyword>, General Manager, Cloud, Cloud Pak and Edge Ecosystem, IBM. Wipro bets big on convergence of 5G and edge computing in India

<ul><li><keyword id="43217" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tech-Mahindra">Tech Mahindra</keyword> is the top gainer on Nifty 50 and Nifty IT in the last 30 days.</li><li>After the company gave double digit growth guidance for FY22 and showed potential business opportunities in the 5G space, analysts have remained positive on the stock.</li><li>The market share of the large cap IT company stood at ₹1.33 lakh crore as of August 13.</li></ul>Shares of Tech Mahindra have gained 31% in the last 30 days as analysts remain positive on the information technology (IT) company’s growth prospects on good opportunities in the 5G space. Tech Mahindra is known for its strong play in network infrastructure services compared to its peers. “The company is well invested in capturing opportunities from the expansion of the 5G value chain across networks and IT services from both telecom service providers and enterprises,” said a report by broking firm Sharekhan. <div type="image" title="tech mah 2" height="900" width="1200" msid="85296207" hostid="261"></div> On July 30, the stock had surged about 8% as the company gave double digit growth guidance of more than 10% in revenue growth for FY22. Tech Mahindra rallies more than 30% in 30 days as analysts seem bullish on 5G opportunities for the blue chip stock

"The stock price correction (in IT firms) has largely been due to de-rating of valuation multiples, as earnings estimates have largely remained intact or seen minor downgrades. The reasons for this sharp derating, as we mentioned above, are largely related to the global macro environment,” said a report by Phillip Capital. Over the past few months, stock markets across the world have been hit by concerns of the US Fed tightening liquidity, rising inflation in the US/European Union, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, volatile crude and commodity prices. All these macro risks point to growth slowdown in US/EU, key markets for the Indian IT services industry – putting the basic growth assumptions into question. High inflation reduces the spending power of corporates, and hence the revenue growth potential of IT services companies, at risk, says the report. Temporary effect say IT sector analysts Despite the heightened concerns of Indian IT firms losing business, analysts are confident that the impact will be short term and temporary. “While the global macro fears are for real, we believe their impact on earnings will be minimal and temporary. The demand outlook continues to be super-bullish – by Gartner, ISG, Accenture and Infosys/HCL (in their recent analyst meets). China is threatening India into using its 5G technology

<keyword id="10862" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Wipro">Wipro</keyword> is now looking forward to expand its business from consumer care and lighting business to detergents, energy drinks and fabric conditioners. This will intensify the competition in sectors dominated by global giants <keyword id="6365619" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hindustan-UniLever">Hindustan Unilever</keyword> and Procter &amp; Gamble. 
 "The focus will be on cross leveraging of assets. With backend integration, we will enter newer categories under existing brands, with existing formulations, manufacturing and supply," <keyword id="198245" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wipro-Consumer">Wipro Consumer</keyword> chief executive <keyword id="4211969" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="vine-agrawal">Vine Agrawal</keyword> told ET. 
 
The Rs 5,900-crore Wipro Consumer Care has done 10 international acquisitions in a decade and will adapt a similar strategy for all globally acquired brands ¬ of tapping new categories under existing brands. The key markets will include China, the Middle East and Malaysia as some of its key strategic markets. 
 
"The focus will be on investing in new, under leveraged categories by leveraging existing ones across countries," he told ET. 
 
However, talking in local context, the maker of Santoor soap and Aramusk male grooming products has not followed the acquisition strategy. 
 
"We are going more global because there's very little happening in India in terms of acquisitions. We can be an enthusiastic buyer but there has to be a willing seller of size and repute, at valuations that are workable," Agrawal told ET. 
 According to data by researcher Nielsen, Santoor is the No 3 brand within soaps with a 9% share, after HUL's Lifebuoy and Lux, and followed by <keyword id="6488831" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dettol">Dettol</keyword> from <keyword id="73803" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reckitt-Benckiser">Reckitt Benckiser</keyword> and <keyword id="6369697" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Godrej">Godrej</keyword> Consumer Products' No 1. 
 
On the consumption outlook, Agrawal said: "We need one more good monsoon and multiple drivers in the economy for consumption revival."

In the Asian market, the SGX Nifty was trading 0.38% lower at 7:49 am, indicating a lower start for Nifty50. The US stocks ended lower on Tuesday as investors digested a slew of earnings reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.55% lower, whereas the S&amp;P 500 lost over 22.29 points. These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session on October 14: Future Enterprises Kishore Biyani led Future Group entity; Future Enterprises defaulted on a payment of the interest on Non-Convertible Debentures with ₹15.14 crore. The due date for fulfilling the interest was October 12. This may move stocks of other Future Group entities like Future Retail, Future Lifestyle Fashion, Future Consumer, among others. The shares of Future Enterprises ended 2% lower, whereas Future Retail, Future Lifestyle Fashion, and Future Consumer were up 7%, 4% and 2%, respectively. Wipro The IT services giant Wipro posted a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/corporates/news/wipro-posts-stable-quarter-profit-rises-3-2-with-revenue-guidance-of-1-5-to-3-5-over-the-next-three-months/articleshow/78640025.cms">stable quarter </a>with a 3.2% rise in profit and has guided for a 1.5-3.5% revenue growth in Q3. The shares of Infosys ended 3% higher yesterday. Bharti Airtel The telco giant Bharti Airtel Group entities moved to the Supreme Court challenging the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) order directing them to pay more than ₹100 crore to Aircel. The shares of Bharti Airtel ended 0.23% higher yesterday. IRCTC The Indian Railways operator Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) announced the completion of tenure of Comal Ramachandran Sundaramurti as an Independent Director on the Board. The shares of IRCTC ended 0.18% higher yesterday. SRF Limited The specialty chemicals manufacturing company SRF’s Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) committee is scheduled to meet on October 16 to decide the issue price. The shares of SRF Limited ended 0.16% higher yesterday. NTPC Limited The company announced its plans to raise ₹4,000 crore via the issue of Non-Convertible Debentures. The stocks of India’s biggest companies, including those with the biggest market share in their respective sectors and segments, have bled out a lot of their value in the last three months. Broking firm ICICI Direct has put together a list of ten stocks that are currently trading at multiple of less than 10 compared to their potential earnings a year down the line i.e. you pay less than ten times the value of the company’s earnings per share, and that is considered to be cheap. “This clearly does not indicate a bottom but certainly indicates good entry points. Hence, investors can choose to stagger or invest lumpsum depending upon one risk appetite and time horizon,” the report added a note of caution.
