"You come up with ideas and test them through computer simulations, but then you must verify they actually work. That's where the wind tunnel comes in."Essentially, the wind tunnel is a large tubelike room with a massive fan at one end and a 60% scale model of a Formula 1 car suspended from the ceiling. "But no doubt, for 2026, people will be starting their development an awful lot earlier. We're actually not allowed to start research on that until January 1, 2025 — but I guarantee every team will be doing that on the first day of the new year."Though wind-tunnel testing is largely a long-term development tool, Fallows said it could have short-term effects. He and his engineers at the technology center in England talk with the team at the track each Grand Prix weekend and often make adjustments in real time."When it gets really exciting is when you have something that happens on a race weekend, maybe during a Friday practice, and you get feedback from the drivers or engineers," he said. "You go into the wind tunnel, identify the problem, fix it, and get the solution on the car before it even goes to qualifying. That happens more often than you think."As with most things in Formula 1, teams are secretive about the specifics of their wind tunnels. For example, Fallows confidently says the wind tunnel in the new Aston Martin technology center will be the most advanced in Formula 1 — but can he divulge why?"Um, not really!" he said with a laugh. Ember found that so far this year, gas generation in the EU dropped 14% compared with the same period in 2023, even as electricity demand ticked up. The deal is expected to be announced in the coming days and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/paramount-skydance-agree-merger-terms-reports-2024-6">values Paramount at $8 billion</a>.Paramount had no shortage of high-profile suitors. Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, media entrepreneur Byron Allen, and private-equity giant Apollo, in collaboration with Sony, were among those who considered buying the company.Skydance might not be as recognizable a name, but the company's owner and CEO David Ellison is. As the son of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/david-ellison-paramount-larry-ellison-tech-2024-4">billionaire Oracle founder Larry Ellison</a>, he's basically tech royalty.But all the interest in Paramount this year didn't equate to smooth sailing. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Two military drones were seized by Italian authorities on their way from China to Libya.</li><li>They were found in containers and disguised to look like wind turbine parts, Italian officials said.</li></ul>Italy has seized parts for two combat drones disguised as wind turbines in containers en route from China to Libya, customs and maritime authorities said on Tuesday.Officials at the port of Gioia Tauro intercepted six containers marked as parts for wind-powered generators, which were actually filled with the fuselages and wings for military drones, the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.gdf.gov.it/it/gdf-comunica/notizie-ed-eventi/comunicati-stampa/anno-2024/luglio/traffico-di-armi">Financial Police said in a statement.</a> The agency patrols Italy's waters and is tasked with countering smuggling.Investigators said the drone parts were hidden among materials made to look like wind turbine fan blades "with the aim of concealing the checks carried out."According to the Financial Police, the drones have a tonnage of more than 3 tons, with a length of over 32 feet and a wingspan of over 65 feet. The Times of London <a target="_blank" href="https://www.thetimes.com/world/europe/article/italian-authorities-seize-chinese-drones-bound-for-libya-xpqqxvxqg">reported on Sunday</a> that Italian authorities had acted on intelligence from the US.It wrote that three containers were impounded on June 18 from the ship MSC Arina and that officials were expecting another three to arrive over the weekend on the MSC Apolline.Per the outlet, the drones were Wing Loong UAVs bound for Benghazi so they could be delivered to Libyan General Khalifa Haftar. The shipments included two control stations for the drones, per The Times.The drone specifications listed by the Financial Guard, which did not name the drones in its statement, match those of the Wing Loong-2 listed <a target="_blank" href="https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MTI0MDU3NDYwMQ==&amp;mid=2656573021&amp;idx=4&amp;sn=26e78e142a30483eacd782ffa340ac95&amp;chksm=7a62ebbb4d1562ad42a50c81be3c1c9ab64aea146de79d94bf692d9bf741bc8283fccb58b92b&amp;scene=27">by Chinese state media reports.</a><div type="image" title="Italian officials stand next to drone parts disguised as wind turbines." height="562" width="1000" msid="111504185" hostid="261" sizebytes="81870"></div>As a long-endurance and remotely controlled weapons platform, the Wing Loong-2 is often compared to the US-made MQ-9 Reaper, though its maximum speed and altitude are inferior to the latter.When it was introduced in 2017, China's state media lauded it as a sign that Beijing was the first to match the US in a "new generation of large-scale reconnaissance and strike integrated UAVs."Neither The Times nor the Financial Guard mentioned whether the Chinese government was involved.China's Foreign Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider.Italian authorities also did not say if the shipment contained munitions for the drones. These projects will substantially reduce the carbon emissions and dependability of conventional power sources. With an estimated annual generation of 17.5 billion units of green electricity, this will lead to a reduction of approximately 16.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions annually, contributing significantly to India's green energy supply and powering nearly 12.6 million households. Moreover, it will generate 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, thereby contributing to local and regional economic development. Besides the signing of the new 6 GW capacity in the state, we already have projects of 2 GW capacity that are operational or at various stages of implementation in the state of Gujarat," Vineet Mittal, Chairperson of Avaada Group, said in the statement. Avaada Group is into production of solar modules, renewable power generation, and the development of large-scale projects for green hydrogen, green methanol, green ammonia, and sustainable aviation fuel.

In a statement, AGEL said it completed "1,050 MW joint venture (JV) with TotalEnergies.
