Hit by unprecedented online orders amid lockdowns and social distancing, Amazon has announced to put customers on a waiting list, and will invite new customers to shop every week. The ecommerce giant said while it has increased order capacity by more than 60 per cent due to COVID-19, it still expects the combination of restricted capacity due to social distancing and customer demand will continue to make finding available delivery windows challenging for customers. "To help, in the coming weeks, we will launch a new feature that will allow customers to secure time to shop. This feature will give delivery customers a virtual ï¿½place in line' and will allow us to distribute the delivery windows on a first come, first served basis. Simultaneously, we will continue to add capacity as swiftly as possible," Stephenie Landry, Vice President of grocery at Amazon, said in a statement on Sunday. The company said it will also adjust store hours for select Whole Foods Market locations to focus exclusively on fulfilling online grocery orders during this time. "We are temporarily asking new Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market delivery and pickup customers to sign up for an invitation to use online grocery delivery and pickup. We're increasing capacity each week and will invite new customers to shop every week," explained Landry. Amazon is currently focusing on high-priority items to ensure the fastest delivery of household staples, medical supplies, and other high demand products coming into our fulfillment centers. Landry said that in the last several weeks, the company has expanded Whole Foods Market grocery pickup from roughly 80 stores to more than 150. "We are releasing delivery windows throughout the day and have made it easier for customers to see when the next delivery window is available by including it on the homepages of Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market," she added. Last week, the company extended the 'Amazon Relief Fund' to its delivery partners -- associates of the Delivery Service Partner Programme, Amazon Flex programme and trucking partners providing middle-mile logistics support -- in India in view of the coronavirus crisis. Amazon said that this fund can be utilised by qualifying individuals who have been quarantined or diagnosed with COVID-19. The Amazon Relief Fund has been set up globally with an initial contribution of $25 million initial contribution to support employees, qualified independent contractors, and employees of qualified vendors who face financial hardships from qualifying events. Amazon to put customers on a waiting list due to increased demand

A US-based diaspora body on Tuesday launched an online petition campaign urging the Secretary of State Anthony <keyword id="10620101" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="blinken" source="Orion">Blinken</keyword> to reduce the long waitlist for various types of American visas being issued from <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>. "We request the State Department, Secretary of State Mr Anthony Blinken and the US embassies in India to eliminate wait times for <keyword id="6359421" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="visa" source="Orion">visa</keyword> appointments in India. "Even after a two-year-long Covid-era pause in visa appointments at the US embassies in India, the visa appointment situation is far from normal, requiring 300 to 900 days of wait time based on the visa types," Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies or FIIDS said launching its online petition campaign. As per travel.state.gov reports on October 31, there is an average 900+ days' wait time for appointments for visitors' visa (B1/B2), an average 400 days' wait time for students (F, M,J) and an average 300 days' wait time for petition-based temp workers like H, L, O, P and Q across the USA consulates in India (Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata), it said. In contrast, the US consulates in China only have an average three days' wait time, FIIDS said. "The 900+ days' delay deprives Indian Americans and Indian immigrants in the USA of having their beloved relatives to visit, whether in the time of difficulties, needs, or for celebrations, impacting their quality of life," it said. "The 400+ days' wait time affects students joining the US universities, that not only impacts students' future but also negatively impacts the US universities," FIIDS said, adding, the 300+ days' wait time is impacting productivity and success of various industries and businesses due to lack of skilled workers. "We urge the US State Department and Sec Blinken to resolve this issue. We believe it is not only important for US interests but the right thing to do on moral and compassionate grounds," FIIDS said in its petition on Change.Org. "As per Reuters news on 27th Sept, the Secretary of State blamed the lack of resources and funding due to lost revenues from fees on this 'self-financed program,'" the petition said. "We request the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps and to seek emergency funds to resolve this backlog. We are eager to assist in any way possible and will forge a coalition of individuals who will rise to the occasion to assist in mitigating this issue," it added. Next time when someone puts you on hold during a call, relax as <keyword id="961840" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-assistant">Google Assistant</keyword> will listen closely to hold music and repetitive messages for you. Google has launched a new feature called Hold for Me in its Phone app that will help users get their time back. Starting with an early preview on newly-launched Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) smartphones in the US, when you call a toll-free number and a business puts you on hold, Google Assistant can wait on the line for you. "You can go back to your day, and Google Assistant will notify you with sound, vibration and a prompt on your screen once someone is on the line and ready to talk,: the company said on Wednesday. The 'Hold for Me' feature is powered by Google's Duplex technology, which not only recognises hold music but also understands the difference between a recorded message and a representative on the line. Once a representative is identified, Google Assistant will notify you that someone's ready to talk and ask the representative to hold for a moment while you return to the call. "We gathered feedback from a number of companies, including Dell and United, as well as from studies with customer support representatives, to help us design these interactions and make the feature as helpful as possible to the people on both sides of the call," the company said. While Google Assistant waits on hold for you, Google's natural language understanding also keeps the users informed. "Your call will be muted to let you focus on something else, but at any time, you can check real-time captions on your screen to know what's happening on the call". The 'Hold for Me' tool is an optional feature one can enable in settings and choose to activate during each call to a toll-free number. To determine when a representative is on the line, audio is processed entirely on the device and does not require a Wi-Fi or data connection. The company said that no audio from the call will be shared with Google or saved to your Google account unless you explicitly decide to share it and help improve the feature. "When you return to the call after Google Assistant was on hold for you, audio stops being processed altogether," the company said. Last year, Google introduced an update to Call Screen that helps users avoid interruptions from spam calls once and for all. Last month, the company launched Verified Calls to help people know why a business is calling before they answer. The call waiting feature will allow users to accept an incoming WhatsApp voice call while they are already on another call. At present, the new call would get disconnected automatically and users would be informed about the missed call after the first conversation has ended. How does call waiting work on WhatsApp Call waiting feature on WhatsApp will be activated by default from version 2.19.352 for Android users. You will notice this feature only when you are already on a call. With the new update, the incoming call UI has been revamped. When you are on a voice call on WhatsApp and receive another call, you will get two buttons. On the left, there is a ‘Decline’ button and on the right, there is a green ‘End and Accept’ button. If you press the ‘Decline’ button, the incoming call will be rejected, and you will continue with the existing call. If you press the ‘End and Accept’ button, the ongoing call will be disconnected, and you can talk to the other person. In regular voice calls, you can put the call on hold while accepting a new call. However, this feature is currently not available on WhatsApp and you can either choose to connect with the existing call or disconnect the ongoing call and accept the second incoming call.

That sounded odd for opening day, but I figured I had to check it out.I entered the single-rider queue at 9:56 a.m, sped my way through the majority of the very long line, got on the attraction at 10:12 a.m., and was off the ride by 10:20 a.m. On opening day, I was able to bypass a 150-minute standby line and waited about 16 minutes to get on Universal Studios Hollywood's hottest new ride. At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the wait time reached four hours long.<h2>Here's how to find the single-rider line</h2>When you walk through the warp pipe to enter the attraction, make an immediate right turn. It's pretty plain, though it does give you more views of Super Nintendo World from up above for some optimal selfies.But if you're just aiming to get on the attraction as fast as possible and don't mind going it alone, this may be the right move for you.
