There are five new plans in total starting at ₹501 and going up to ₹2,595. The new plans have been introduced to include the recently launched Disney+ Hotstar Mobile plan. Vi previously offered the Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription along with its recharge plans. In addition to a one year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar, these Vi prepaid plans also offer unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 3GB of data per day along with extra data up to 48GB. Customers also get access to Vi Movies and TV Classic service for movies, TV shows, live TV and news. There’s also a data add-on pack priced at ₹601 that offers 75GB of data and Disney+ Hotstar Mobile for one year. This booster pack can be used along with an existing recharge plan. These prepaid plans also come with Vi’s ‘Binge All Night’ and ‘Weekend Data Rollover” offers. Under the Binge All Night offer, Vi users can get unlimited data between 12 am and 6 am daily. Vi launches new prepaid recharge plans with Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription

Jio has now launched a new all-in-one pack for ₹222, which will give users 1,000 minutes free talk time for calls made to any other non-Jio number. It has also introduced a few other packs for ₹333 and ₹444, which also offer up to 3,000 minutes free talk-time to other numbers while Jio to Jio calls remain free with all the all-in-one packs. Now, the cheapest package available from Jio is ₹98. The move comes right after Jio announced that it was moving away from its free unlimited calls offer and will now be charging 6 paise per minute for calls. Jio is making these changes to recover its average revenue per user or ARPU. This is the first time that the Mukesh Ambani-led telecom network is moving away from cheap mobile tariff plans which has been its USP since launch in 2016. This strategy has helped the newcomer and challenger gain over 300 million subscribers. At an annual general meeting in August, Ambani said that they are looking to target 500 million subscribers. However, the company also launched Jio Fibre last month which offers monthly and annual plans across price points, and this move could indicate that it eyeing a larger pie of internet consumers. Meanwhile, this is good news for Airtel and Vodafone. They continue to have really cheap and affordable plans starting at ₹23 and ₹19 respectively. Airtel announces cashback of ₹6,000, free one-time screen replacement on purchase of new devices

Instead it has started a new prepaid recharge pack of ₹79 that offers up to four times more outgoing minutes of usage to customers along with twice the amount of data. Basically, it has hiked its cheapest prepaid plan to ₹79. “This change is in line with the company’s focus on offering superior connectivity solutions. Airtel customers on entry level recharges can now stay connected for longer without worrying about their account balance,” the company said in a BSE statement. “If they have hiked the plan the stock would have reacted but I don’t think there is any long term positive on the stock...eventually they will have to compete with Jio and Vodafone Idea and the space is so overcrowded that eventually none of these players have any pricing power at all.. The stock has really gone nowhere in 13 years now and unlikely to as right now they are competing in a market which is so stiff that everybody wants to gain market share,” said Rajat Sharma, founder of Sana Securities. Traders in the market must have found this announcement as a positive and that is why the rise in stock price, added Sharma. As per The Economic Times report, the government was also considering other measures with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) including a reduction in licence fees (LF) and spectrum usage charges (SUC) and phasing out of bank guarantees. New Delhi, Apr 3 () Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio will continue to gain market share at the cost of Vodafone Idea's "worsened" financial health that may deteriorate further in the wake of the AGR judgment, Axis Capital said in a note on Friday. Axis Capital said it has trimmed its revenue estimates for wireless telcos. This is because muted subscriber additions as well as hit in 2G/3G conversions to 4G SIMs on account of the lockdown and a possible extension of certain curbs, could partially impact revenue growth that was expected in coming months from the tariff hike in December 2019. "We cut FY21/22E (estimates) revenue of wireless providers by 1-6 per cent and EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation) margin by 20-100 bps (basis points," Axis Capital said in the telecom sector report. It said that while the tariff hikes undertaken by companies in December 2019 is likely to play out in nine months of calender year 2020 as subscribers come for recharge, the floor pricing may be delayed due to the lockdown. As per the Supreme Court judgment, incumbent telcos have to make full payment of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues including interest, penalty and interest on penalty, it said noting that Bharti Airtel appeared better placed to make the payment, given the recent fund raise. Introduction of floor pricing and cut in levies to ensure that market continues to have four players, can further benefit the industry including Airtel, Reliance Jio, it said. "However, floor pricing may be delayed due to the lockdown. Also, due to economic stress from the lockdown, demand for relief by other industries may increase, which could impact Vodafone Idea's prospects of getting relief from the government," it said. Axis Capital said Airtel and RJio will continue to gain market share at the cost of Vodafone Idea due to latter's worsened financial health which may deteriorate further after the AGR judgment. It noted that telcos had introduced new packs for customers for work from home, had engaged in ensuring service continuity and had rolled out relief offers to low income customers. In its note on Friday, Axis Capital asserted that telcos' subscriber addition will be hit, as the lockdown in wake of COVID-19 will sharply pull down subscriber acquisition, given that people mostly remained at home and shops were closed. "COAI expects subscriber addition of less than 1 million in March 2020 versus average of 3 million per month. Subscriber addition to be hit for most of Q1FY21 due to 21-day lockdown and possibility of restrictions/ partial restrictions getting extended," Axis Capital said. Also, conversion from 2G/3G to 4G may also be hit as it requires new SIM, "which is difficult in a lockdown", it said. "These may partially impact revenue growth that was expected in 9MCY20 (nine months of calender year 2020) from the tariff hike taken in December 2019. Accordingly, we have trimmed our revenue estimates for wireless telcos," Axis Capital said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on March 24, had announced a complete lockdown of the entire country for 21 days in an unprecedented move to try halt the spread of coronavirus, shortly after which the Centre said road, rail and air services will remain suspended during this period.
